The opportunity

We are seeking a talented, motivated and professional  Maintenance Services Operations Manager to join the Boeing team as the In-Service Support Manager for the MQ-28 Program. In this role you will be leading the MQ-28 Program team responsible for provision of maintenance, training and operations support services for the MQ-28 Program. You will be an essential member of the program's leadership team, influencing the program's direction as the senior manager leading the Aircraft Maintenance, training and operations services delivery. This scope of work is to be achieved through effective management of both Boeing and customer governance and assurance compliance. 

Successful applicants may be required to travel and work away from their designated work location to support customer deployments and exercises periodically throughout the year. This provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a different environment with our customer while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role. We are looking for candidates who are adaptable, flexible, and eager to embrace this aspect of the position.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead with Excellence: Provide leadership and management to our Maintenance Team, driving exceptional performance and results.
  • Collaborate for Success: Work closely with Boeing and RAAF leadership to integrate efforts and deliver outstanding outcomes.
  • Oversee Major Operations: Manage the movements and wellbeing of Boeing personnel during away from main base activities.
  • Uphold Standards: Ensure adherence to Boeing policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Foster Team Development: Use your exceptional soft skills to lead and manage a team of technical personnel, promoting safety, harmony, and professional growth.
  • Drive Ethical Practices: Ensure that team objectives are met while upholding our ethical values and compliance with legislative, DASR, ISO, and Boeing standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualifications: Formal qualifications in either Aviation Maintenance, Engineering, Project Management or Technical Discipline.
  • Skills: -
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate between stakeholders of differing cultural backgrounds and experience
    • Business acumen to ensure prioritisation and pragmatic deconfliction of stakeholder competing needs
    • Emotional intelligence to intuitively identify and action stakeholders needs when conducting business in a high tempo environment
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in managing and leading teams of technical personnel, preferably in an aviation maintenance environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to balance customer and business priorities to meet required outcomes.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a high paced operational environment.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO standards related to Quality Management Systems, Safety Management Systems, and Environmental Management Systems.

Essential Criteria:

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens and
    • Meet Defence Security Requirements

Desirable Criteria:

  • Defence / Defence Industry experience is highly regarded

Security Clearance

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (NEG VET 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for your whole life i.e. birth to present time.
