Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer students and recent graduates of certified Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) programs opportunities to join our Fabrication team as a Assembler Sub Assembly-Fastener in Auburn, Algona, and Puyallup Washington.  

As an Assembler for Sub Assembly-Fasteners, you will be an integral part of our production team, focusing on the assembly of fasteners and related components. Your role will emphasize quality and safety, ensuring that all assemblies meet stringent specifications and industry standards. You will work with various materials and tools, following established processes to create reliable subassemblies that contribute to the overall integrity of our products. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment will be essential as you collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.

Eligibility:

This position is exclusively open to students who have completed Boeing Pre-Employment Training (BPET) certified courses.

  • BPET Enrollment Confirmation Form: This form must be issued by your instructor.

  • Updated Resume: Your resume should provide a comprehensive overview of your hands-on tool experience and/or manufacturing skill sets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform rework, repairs, pickups, functional checks, and authorized changes, maintaining the required skill level for all tasks. 

  • Select appropriate parts, materials, tools, and assemblies, determining the sequence of work as necessary. 

  • Report job-related issues, such as errors in parts, materials, or assembly procedures, in accordance with shop procedures outlined by the supervisor. 

  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy in work assignments. 

  • Execute fabrication tasks, including reaming, drilling, riveting, sanding, filing, grinding, and shaping of sheet metal parts, as well as forming, countersinking, crimping, and other necessary operations. 

  • Prepare and mix adhesives, cements, and foams for bonding, sealing, and riveting detail parts and components. 

  • Load, unload, and operate ovens for sealing or bonding detail parts to assemblies. 

  • Apply protective materials to assemblies to ensure durability and compliance with specifications. 

  • Assemble, locate, and install mechanical accessories such as latches, locks, pulleys, and levers. 

  • Work with various materials, including plastics, extrusions, castings, and forgings, during assembly operations. 

  • Route, clamp, and secure electrical installation components as required for work assignments. 

  • Coordinate, prepare, and manage the movement of materials within the assigned area to ensure efficient workflow. 

  • Assemble, join, mechanically fasten, or rework parts and assemblies to create subassemblies that meet quality requirements, following established processes and procedures. 

  • Identify and locate points, parts, and assemblies using established reference lines or index points, deriving measurements from drawings, prints, and other documentation. 

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards: 

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs. 

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting. 

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants. 

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards. 

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. 

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.  

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • Be a student or recent graduate of a Boeing Pre-Employment Training course that is certified for the 20104 Assembler Sub Assembly-Fastener role.

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred. 

Relocation

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Union Representation Statement:

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinists (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement. 

Shift Work Statement:

This posting might be supporting various shifts. Working in other shifts and/or overtime varies based on business needs.

Pay:  $24.32/hour, with potential to earn up to $53.30/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
