The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Fabrication Engineering Integration organization is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Fabrication ALIT team as a Process Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) in Auburn, Washington.

The Fabrication Integration team is at the center of Fabrication Engineering, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across five capabilities and nineteen business units located in regions including Puget Sound, Oregon, Montana, Utah, South Carolina, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

This role will be pivotal in developing the Fabrication Engineering’s long-term Change Management strategy and process driving end-to-end improvements in engineering, manufacturing, and support processes across the Fabrication Engineering value stream.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a robust engineering change management structure and implementation across the Fabrication Engineering organization.
  • Develop and execute integrated program plans that align with departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Communicate strategies with stakeholders and lead implementation and standardization of engineering processes, procedures, and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze engineering design, manufacturing, and support requirements to optimize complex processes throughout the value stream using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methods.
  • Build and foster relationships with engineering teams and management across diverse regions and cultures.
  • Develop standard artifacts for project management and communication, proactively mitigating risks and issues.
  • Anticipate and address risks that could disrupt engineering’s ability to support programs and production systems.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Certification/Airworthiness, PLM/IT, and Program teams to harmonize changes, improve data integrity and accessibility, and reduce audit and rework risks.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):             

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with PLM systems and digital thread integration (e.g., requirements, CAD/MBE, EBOM/MBOM, change control).
  • 5+ years related work experience
  • Experience analyzing and improving engineering/manufacturing processes using Lean and/or Six Sigma techniques.
  • Working knowledge of product development lifecycles, product structures/BOMs, and change/configuration management.
  • Ability to build cross-functional planning models and perform integration analyses using digital visualization/simulation tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under general direction and deliver results in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 14+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range (Level 3): $94,350 - $127,650

Summary Pay Range (Level 4): $116,450 - $157,550

Summary Pay Range (Level 5): $144,500 - $195,500
