Position Overview:

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is hiring resources in Associate Mechanical System Design and Analysis Engineer domain to work in areas such as lab test and equipment design for aircraft testing purposes. This position will be located in the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India and reports to the Manager - Design Engineering, Boeing Test & Evaluation - India.

These resources will be responsible for mechanical design for lab tests and their installations.

A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with the geographically distributed teams Technical Experts and Engineering Manager to implement new system designs and analysis, upgrades to meet their organizational goals.


Position Responsibilities:

The Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) is looking for highly motivated mechanical engineer. The individual will work in various phases of product development on the Boeing platforms.

The job responsibilities include:

  • This position will be responsible for mechanical design of wide range of lab test designs, installations including shelf assemblies, enclosures, sensor mounts and access provisions etc.

  • Perform limited structural analyses (linear static, modal, basic fatigue) using established Analysis tools (hand-calculations methods) and using CAE/FEA tools to validate design meets the requirements and specifications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Labs, systems, electronics, manufacturing, suppliers) to improvise the designs, ensure safety, perform  DFMA, and resolve integration issues.

  • Designs are typically documented using CATIA / UG NX and maintained in a variety of Boeing & BT&E databases / PLM such as ENOVIA / TEAMCENTER

  • Support test planning, execution and data review for structural verification (component, sub-system, and system levels). Prepare test procedures and capture results to substantiate requirements for customers and regulatory agencies.

  • Prepare technical documents using analytical approaches and performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of various test equipment and assemblies.

  • Contribute to productivity improvement through use of Quality Management System and lean principles. Candidate shall provide periodic update on project progress and quality metrics.

  • Approach SME to get the required help, guidance and mentoring team during project execution

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision, positive attitude and highest ethics.

  • Demonstrate strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • Understanding of Aero plane structure and various sections, demonstrated proficiency in design for mechanical components.

  • General awareness of different instruments such as pressure sensors, thermocouples, strain gages, data loggers, etc and their designs, performance and integration.

  • Experience of test instrumentation, component design, experimental models, mechanisms etc.

  • Pro-actively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work

  • Design for Manufacturing and Design for Testing.

  • Understanding of configuration management, requirements traceability and related processes.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Aerospace domain is preferred.

  • Experience in CAD tools like Catia / UG-NX / CREO is an added advantage.

  • Strong demonstrated capability to perform classical hand calculations and basic experience in CAE tools is added advantage.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 0 to 2 years' Aerospace, or Test & evaluation related work experience

This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
