Boeing Test and Evaluation organization is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Multi-Skill Manager to lead a team that manages aircraft test data as well as develop software for various applications for business process optimization and providing a production platform for AI solutions.  This critical position develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and technical lead engineers.

This role will be based out of Bangalore, India

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own design, delivery, and operations for the aircraft test data platform: ingestion, storage, metadata/catalog, schemas, access controls, retention.

  • Lead and grow a cross-functional team of software and data engineers responsible for data pipelines, APIs, analytics apps, and MLOps capabilities.

  • Build and maintain data products (APIs, services, dashboards) that make test-data-ready features available to ML models and analysts.

  • Ensure observability, reliability, and performance for data pipelines and model inference endpoints

  • Enforce data governance, access controls, and security/compliance requirements for sensitive data.

  • Collaborate with flight/lab test engineers and domain SMEs to define schemas, validation rules, and data quality KPIs.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to team regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes.

  • Experienced in drafting roadmaps and deriving technical strategy, Translate business information/technical requirements into an architectural blueprint.

  • Forecast resource, skills and capability needs and make hiring decisions. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to improve employee performance and expand capabilities. Provides ongoing developmental feedback.

  • Provide periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents.

  • Must foster an innovative work environment leading to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and efficiency.

  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher is required

  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree with 12 to 15 years of work experience largely in data platform, cloud and software applications development.

  • Demonstrated Experience in Software development for engineering applications, real-time data acquisition systems, data processing, data analysis and data recording tools

  • Proven experience managing teams that deliver production data platforms and consumer applications (data lakes, pipelines, metadata/catalogs).

  • Practical MLOps experience: deploying models to production, model CI/CD, model serving frameworks, monitoring, and rollback strategies.

  • Strong background in data engineering: ingestion frameworks, ETL/ELT, streaming, batch processing, schema design, and data quality.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Experience with cloud security best practices.

  • Leadership: ability to prioritize work across platform, apps, and AI production needs; stakeholder management with cross functional teams and engineering stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • At least 2 years as a people manager experience is preferred

  • Working in a global environment with distributed software development teams

  • Experience in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, or Bicep to enable repeatable, secure deployments.

  • Deploy and manage container orchestration platforms (AKS, EKS, ECS) and serverless patterns.

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 12 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+11 years' related work experience).
