The Boeing India IDT&S Product Systems team is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer – Manufacturing Operations Management to join their team in Bangalore, KA, India.
Responsibilities include the development, enhancement and integration of our MOM tools (majorly on Siemens Opcenter Platform) supporting the Boeing BDS teams. This position requires strong skills in the MOM domain which include MOM products like Mendix, Siemens Opcenter, Siemens Advanced Planning & Scheduling, Siemens Opcenter Intelligence and their integration with Cross-Bedrock and Shop Floor Systems.
The successful candidate would work on various Siemens MOM Solutions (Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete), MOM UI Development Platforms (like Mendix or Project Studio), Logic Building Applications (Siemens Opcenter - Project Studio), Database Management Systems (SSMS or Oracle), Cross bedrock Integrations (with SAP & PLM using AIG and API calls), Shop Floor Connectivity Solutions (via Siemens Opcenter - Automation Gateway), Scheduling/Plannings Systems (Siemens APS) and Reporting/Dashboarding Tools (Siemens Opcenter Intelligence). The candidate will work to Design, Configure, Develop, Integrate, Test and Deploy MOM applications using these mentioned COTS Product specific Tools and Technologies. This role is critical in translating manufacturing process requirements into robust, scalable and integrated technical solutions that provide real-time visibility and control across our production value chain.
The successful Candidate will have deep techno-functional skills and be aligned to:
- Defining MOM implementation or integration solutions.
- Will provide solutions aligned with Digital Enterprise MOM strategic business drivers, enablers, constraints & priorities.
- Providing subject matter expertise, technical leadership, application road maps/strategies to manage tech Debt and risks across the Manufacturing and Quality portfolio.
Good communication skills are needed both verbally and written, to Interact with peers and customers. Job requires the ability to work well with others on a team as well as independently. Job requires working within a diverse team of skilled and motivated co-workers to collaborate on results. This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads, develops, designs and reviews High Complexity UI and Backend Development, customizations, documentation, implementation and deployment for various capabilities developed or customized within the Siemens Opcenter & Mendix suite of MOM Products.
- Designs, develops, leads and reviews complete, scalable Siemens Opcenter MOM solution for Complex manufacturing processes and new product introductions.
- Coordinates, guides and leads along with the Architects and Product Teams through full MOM solution implementation lifecycles, from requirements gathering to post-go-live support.
- Acts as a liaison with the vendors and product teams to manage technical discussions with stakeholders across manufacturing, IT and business.
- Contributes to the strategic roadmap for the company’s Siemens Opcenter MOM application landscape, including evaluation of new features and platform upgrades
- Guides, Consults and Trains the dev team and business on the functional/domain knowledge of discrete manufacturing, industry best practices, Core Siemens Opcenter MOM Capabilities and ISA95 Concepts.
- Creates standardized MOM Design, Development and Integration Best Practices, Code Quality and Review Templates to ensure that the regulatory requirements are met.
- Owns root-cause analysis, Major support Incidents and long-term solutions for complex issues in a timely manner.
- Creates, owns and drives the technical design and development of MOM integrations with the ERP, PLM, Planning/Scheduling, Reporting/Dashboarding and Shop Floor Control Systems.
- Owns the development and maintenance of MOM reports, dashboards and KPI’s to enable visibility into business effectiveness.
- Develops and reviews the development of high complexity SQL Queries, SP’s and Functions to read/validate data integrity and owns creation/updating of very complex DB Objects and processes.
- Builds complex Siemens Opcenter Automation Gateway based logic to collect/write Shop Floor, Quality and Machine/Tool data and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs.
- Provides Technical guidance to the Siemens Opcenter Dev team and optimizes the Work and Code Quality of Junior Devs.
- Analyzes and optimizes the performance of MOM solutions including database and application tuning.
- Independently executes structured testing cycles and owns the technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
- Partners with Architects and Product Teams to help define the enterprise level MOM Architecture, technology standards, best practices and governance processes for the global platforms.
- Drives the development and maintenance of a multi-year technical and application roadmap for the MOM platform aligning with business objectives.
- Establish and manage and use GIT Repositories, CI/CD pipelines to automate Code Merge, build, test, and deployment processes.
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and systems, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting of AWS resources and services.
- Cultivates and nurtures relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners.
- Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrates a proven ability to thrive in an Agile environment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Good understanding of Manufacturing processes and Techno-Functional Expertise in providing Manufacturing IT solutions for Automotive or Aerospace companies.
- Technical expertise and Hands-on experience in IT Software Development for MOM systems using Siemens Opcenter Suite of MOM Products.
- Experience in leading the development, implementation and rollout of various Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete MES modules for PRODUCTION, QUALITY, MAINTENANCE, TIME & LABOR and INVENTORY.
- Hands on experience in developing and leading Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete UI Development on platforms like Mendix or Project Studio. Worked on creating/customizing UI Components with AngularJS, CSS and HTML for MOM Solutions
- Knowledge on embedding interactive UI Logic and Validations for MOM solutions using Workflows/Microflows/Nanoflows for MOM solutions within Siemens OPCENTER specific UI Development Platform "MENDIX".
- Hands on experience in building and leading backend MOM application Logic Building (using Siemens Opcenter Project Studio).
- Deep Knowledge of developing, configuring and customizing Siemens Opcenter Execution Discrete’s backend logic & role mapping using Apps, Extension Apps, Functional Blocks, Commands, Events, Signals, C# code, ODATA Views etc. within PROJECT STUDIO/SOLUTION STUDIO.
- Expertise on creating the needed MOM system Master Data using Siemens OPCENTER Execution Discrete specific OOTB Master Data screens.
- Expertise on creating and leading the development of needed DB Objects (Queries, SP's, Functions, ODATA Views, Tables, Entities, Facets) to read and write data from/to the Siemens OPCENTER connected "ORACLE" or “SSMS” Database.
- Working experience in developing and leading Siemens Opcenter MES/MOM integrations with shop floor systems like historians, PLC’s, Tools, CNC’s and Shop floor machines via Automation Gateway (or other means).
- Experience building shop floor integrations between the MOM systems and Machines/Tools/Equipment’s using OPC/ACTIVE MQ/KAFKA/MQTT Protocols
- Experience in leading the design and development of SIEMENS OPCENTER Integrations with SAP, PLM, Scheduling (like APS), Reporting/Dashboarding (like Opcenter Intelligence) or other 3rd party applications using SOA.
- Experience in developing ODATA based API's for Cross Bedrock Integrations between the MOM and SAP/PLM/Schedular Systems within Siemens OPCENTER specific tools provided in "PROJECT STUDIO".
- Knowledge about ISA 95, experience in various MOM functions and integrations standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of DevOps implementation for MES applications.
- Experience working on Cloud platforms like AWS/AZURE.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ) :
- Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, team members, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and complete projects.
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English and have a high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.
- Developing Cross Bedrock Integrations between the MOM and SAP/PLM/Schedular Systems using "AIG" or “OPCENTER Connect” with the help of REST API's, WEB SERVICES, SOAP API's, RFC's, DB connectors, KAFKA and ACTIVE MQ Services will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Kafka, IBM-Fuse, Messaging Queue, Cloud (AWS/Azure), Gateway (API-C), JWT, Multi-Threading, Load balancer, .Net Core, ADO, CI/CD, TFS, GIT will be preferred.
- Ability to Build Reports, Dashboards and Manufacturing Data KPIs for MOM Solutions within Siemens specific applications like "MANUFACTURING INTELLIGENCE" will be an added advantage.
- Understating production planning/scheduling implementation using Siemens APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) or other planning tools will be preferred.
- Knowledge about Architecture documentation standards and tools like Cameo.
- Basic knowledge on Siemens TeamCenter or S4HANA platform is an added advantage
- Understating and experience of working in SAFe Agile methodologies.

- Typically, 8 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.
