Software Engineering Managers at DAS are excited to work on new technologies, products, platforms, and solutions as part of DAS Whole offers. Therefore, the technical managers need to have a good technical experience leading teams developing cloud platforms, data analytics, domain driven design and advanced software engineering techniques used in customer facing products and services. They have experience developing software, and don’t hesitate to roll up their sleeve when needed to work with the team to solve a technical issue.

They work closely with Tech Product managers, tech architects and Dev teams to understand and influence the technical direction during the full product lifecycle throughout the conceptualization, product roadmap development, execution, and product launch using their strong technical background.

Position Overview
The Technical Manager attributes are detailed below:

Technical Acumen

  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of software development methodologies, programming languages, and cloud technologies relevant to digital product development.
  • Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in technology, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Passion for innovation: Should have a passion for innovation and a curiosity to explore new ideas. They should stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in their products.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions is important.
  • Domain Driven Design:  Good understanding of domain driven design to influence and direct the team as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

Process Skills and Techniques

  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing projects and customer milestones, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring timely delivery of products and capabilities.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, to facilitate iterative and incremental development.
  • Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality assurance processes and methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free digital products.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Adept at identifying and resolving technical challenges and issues that may arise during the development process.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Leadership Skills and Responsibilities

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION.
  • 12 - 18 years of experience with at least 4+ years as a people manager.
  • Leadership and influence: The ability to lead and motivate a team of developers, designers, and other technical professionals to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Team Management: The ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork among team members.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including WO managers, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure alignment and successful product launches.
  • Stakeholder management: Proficiency in managing relationships with stakeholders, such as clients, product owners, and other departments, to ensure alignment of goals and effective collaboration throughout the development process.
  • Innovation and Creativity: The capacity to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to enhance digital products and meet user needs.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients, and to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
  • Conflict Resolution: The skill to identify and address conflicts or disagreements within the team or between stakeholders, finding mutually beneficial solutions and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Active Listening: The ability to actively listen to the ideas, concerns, and feedback of team members and stakeholders, fostering a culture of open communication and valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiation techniques to manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and reach consensus on project requirements, timelines, and priorities.
  • Remote Collaboration: The ability to effectively collaborate with remote team members or distributed teams using various collaboration tools and communication platforms.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for cultural differences when collaborating with diverse teams or stakeholders from different backgrounds and locations.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering with 12 to 18 years’ experience and Master's degree will be added advantage
