Position Overview

The Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) is looking for a highly motivated Strategy & Operations Manager  - Boeing India Software Engineering  for the Boeing India Software Engineering (BISE) organization. This Strategy & Operations Manager role will be part of the BISE organization and will lead a small team to manage.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop project or operational plans aligned with organizational objectives. Implement plans to ensure business and operational objectives are achieved. Review plans' execution, make appropriate adjustments, and resolve issues. Monitor appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.

  • Provide periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents.

  • Manage employees performing project and operations management activities in the Boeing India Software Engineering (BISE) organization.  Provide coaching / counseling, mentorship and developmental opportunities and job assignments to direct reports to improve performance and expand capabilities. Provides ongoing developmental feedback. Enforces company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of

  • Self-driven with ability to regularly interact with team members at multiple levels within BISE as well as across other engineering and functional partners globally.

  • Work with Enterprise Software Engineering Workforce Strategy team and BISE managers to align BISE workforce demand forecast and supply information in Adaptive Planning tool. Oversee utilization forecasting, skill mapping, and talent development initiatives. Support the development of scenario-based models (e.g., “What-if” analyses) for resource allocation.

  • Effectively conduct the key BISE meetings by working proactively with all the relevant stakeholders to gather all planned content required for these meetings.

  • Closely track status of all BISE OKRs (Objectives and Key results) and associated metrics and help drive discussions to arrive at appropriate actions.

  • Partner and engage with internal and external stakeholders to develop action plans that are consistent with the organization’s strategy and initiatives.

  • Foster an innovative work environment that leads to identification of opportunities for improvements in product, process, quality, and efficiency. Implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational effectiveness and employee productivity.

  • Utilize Excel or other appropriate tools (including AI) to gather and analyze data, streamline reporting processes, and derive actionable insights that support strategic decision-making. Create insightful reports and develop presentations that effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required as a Basic Qualification.

  • Familiarity with software engineering terminologies and knowledge of agile software development processes is preferred.

  • Systems Thinking - Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all roles and activities in the organization, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.

  • Analytical Skills - Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, analyze operational data, uncover trends and derive insights, summarize findings and propose actions / ideas that aid organizational decision making by leadership. Proficiency in tools like Excel, MS PowerPoint, and project management platforms (e.g., Gitlab/Jira/ MS Projects).

  • Ability to communicate well and build effective working relationships with multiple levels of individual contributors and managers within BISE, other engineering teams and functional business partners across Boeing.

  • Proven skills in project / program management and operational aspects of a large team/organization. Oversee the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and program health metrics such as cost, efficiency, and timelines.

  • Proficiency in data handling tools and visualization techniques, with a proven ability to create impactful presentations that convey complex information effectively.

  • Experience in utilizing AI tools for data analysis and reporting, demonstrating a strong capability to leverage technology for improving operational efficiency.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, technology, engineering or business administration is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION. Additional degree in management is preferred.

  • 12+ years of industry experience is preferred. 4+ years of experience in strategy, project management, or business operations will be an added advantage but not necessarily needed.

  • Ability to leverage technology for gathering, interpreting, and reporting data that will aid in effective decision-making will be preferred.
