Boeing is currently seeking a Senior Airframe Manager to provide oversight and leadership to a multidiscipline team for an Air Dominance proprietary program.

The selected candidate will lead the Airframe Team which consists of the Airframe Structural Design team as well as the Airframe Strength Analysis team and Airframe Integration Team (AIT). This position is located in Berkeley, MO on 1st shift.

Position Responsibilities:             

  • Manage the leadership of the Airframe Design and AIT teams while integrating with Program Management

  • Execute Boeing Earned Value Management and Management Best Practice policies and procedures as a Cost Account Manager and set operational goals

  • Planning, scheduling, execution and support of 3D design efforts, strength analysis, and modeling and engineering release of detail parts and assemblies that define the physical instantiation of the Airframe

  • Plan, fund, and execute building block test activities and allowables development supporting airframe verification and validation activities

  • Lead the Airframe team though Design and Build to full-scale Structural test planning and execution

  • Lead the development and execution of the Airframe Structural Integrity Program (ASIP)

  • Acquire resources for projects and processes.

  • Provide technical management of suppliers

  • Lead process improvements

  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manage, develop and motivate employees

This position requires an active Top Secret (or higher) U.S. security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s or higher in an Engineering discipline

  • Expertise in the implementation of 3D Model Based Design, (3DMBD) and Full Size Determinate Assembly (FSDA) in a developmental environment

  • Experience with the design of advanced composite structure

  • Experience leading Structures teams in the execution of design/build and test activities

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Expertise in the ability to lead the team in the implementation and execution of a clean sheet design using the latest 3D modeling and analysis tools

  • Experience leading multi-disciplined teams including Design, Strength, Loads, Dynamics, Fatigue and Fracture and Materials and Processes engineers and managers

  • Experience with Structural Aircraft Development from Initial concept through testing, first flight, and production support

  • Demonstrated experience with the full air vehicle development cycle in a rapid prototyping environment

  • Familiarity with Structural Integrity, Airworthiness, ASIP Planning, and structural requirements

  • Understanding impact of airframe structures and materials on RADAR cross section

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $173,400- $234,600
