The Boeing Company’s Enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data organization is currently seeking a Data Science Senior Manager to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; or Seattle, WA

The role is responsible for technically leading and managing a team of Data Scientists and Business Intelligence (BI) Analysts to deliver high-impact, data-driven solutions that advance enterprise AI capabilities.

The manager will work with business stakeholders and product managers to ensure requirements are well founded and ready for AI/Machine Learning (ML) development, and they will engage with executive leadership to communicate the art of the possible with AI and machine learning while setting realistic expectations. This role will require collaboration with the AI Platform team to influence ML Ops system recommendations and to translate high-priority data scientist needs into actionable requirements.

This leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to guide projects from ideation to delivery, drive adoption of AI-powered solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy and governance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Data Scientists and BI Analysts to deliver high business impact AI/ML and analytics solutions

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product managers to elicit, refine, and prioritize requirements; ensure use cases are well found, measurable, and aligned to business outcomes

  • Educate executive level leadership on the state of the art in AI/ML, set realistic expectations, and articulate a clear roadmap for AI capabilities across the enterprise

  • Drive end-to-end project delivery, from problem framing and data discovery through model development, validation, deployment, and value realization

  • Establish and enforce best practices for modeling, experimentation, reproducibility, and documentation; promote responsible AI, fairness, and governance

  • Partner with the AI Platform team to shape ML Ops recommendations, model monitoring, deployment pipelines, and data/model governance strategies; translate team needs into actionable platform requirements

  • Mentor and develop team members, promote professional growth, and cultivate a high-performing data science/analytics culture

  • Collaborate with data engineering, data governance, and IT to ensure data quality, accessibility, security, and compliance

  • Communicate progress and impact to executive stakeholders; translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant narratives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science and building Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) models

  • 5+ years of experience working on teams and projects that involve cross-functional and/or cross-business domains with executive interface experience

  • 5+ years of experience with python, ML Ops and Data Ops frameworks

  • 5+ years of experience in managing a team or as a technical lead

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, AI, Engineering, Statistics)

  • Experience in ML Ops concepts: scalable deployment, model monitoring, continuous integration/continuous deployment for ML

  • Experience with AI/ML in a production environment and real-world business impact

  • Experience with data visualization, BI tools, and communicating insights to business users

  • Experience working within a geographically and culturally diverse team

  • Experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $204,000 – $295,550
