Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works Organization is seeking an Experienced Information Technology Engineer (Level 3) to support the Virtual Warfare Center in Berkeley, MO.

The Virtual Warfare Center’s Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, maintenance, and operation of computing, networking, audio visual, and physical environment. The VWC has several locations across the United States dedicated to large scale Modeling & Simulation engagements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Defines and validates requirements for new and revised hardware and software systems.
  • Designs, develops and tests applications.
  • Performs trade studies and other forms of analysis to formulate optimum solutions for users.
  • Develops and deploys new or revised processes in support of new computing systems, including documentation and training.
  • Supports the development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes.
  • Facilitates integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements.
  • Works under general direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems
  • 3+ years of System Administration experience on Windows platform
  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) security processes
  • Ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140)
  • Experience providing system administration of RedHat 7.x  and above
  • Experience executing DoD STIGs for operating systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Experience with Cisco routers and switches & Cisco IOS implementations
  • Experience with LAN technologies: Layer2, Layer3, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, IP Multicast, IP QoS, DHCP, NTP
  • Experience with Taclanes KG-176A/D/G/F
  • Experience with network tools: Cisco ISE/ACS (TACACS), Unified Call Manager, GEM-One, Cisco ADSM, Ansible
  • Experience with NMS Tools: Solarwinds NCM, NPM, NTA, FlowTraq, Wireshark, OmniPeek Protocol Analyzers

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
