Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Manager for the F-15 Program in Berkeley, MO!

This is an exciting opportunity to manage employees and first line managers. The desired candidate will be able to establish cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program goals while fostering a work environment that promotes accountability, trust, teamwork, quality and safety. The successful candidate is expected to understand, communicate and execute organizational vision, goals and strategic direction, encouraging and leading a culture of performance, continuous improvement and employee involvement. Your skills will allow you to proactively partner with customers, peers and support teams to best meet company objectives; as well as support problem solving and continuous improvement activities, including opportunities to grow yourself as a Boeing Leader.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead teams and multi-disciplined support staff to positively impact safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Drive continuous improvement, standard work, and best practices within the Production System
    Drive for Safety improvements, defection reduction, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention to ensure Product Safety
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Support affordability by driving unit hour reductions and innovation implementation
    Manages employees and other managers performing activities within manufacturing disciplines
  • Deploy Lean principles in accordance to the Boeing Production System
  • Conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of organizational goals and monitors performance metrics
  • Proactively communicates with leadership team, peers (e.g., fellow senior managers) and customers
  • Team with Quality on inspection approach, quality initiatives, corrective and preventative actions, and DCMA engagement/strategy
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Creates a culture of continuous improvement

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working as a leader or manager
  • 3+ years of experience driving improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and people on production and development programs
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional and Lean+ projects
  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with schedule and budget management, stakeholder communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and requirements are met

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Direct functional experience within Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, or Supply Chain
  • Deep production program experience across driving improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, and People on production and development programs
  • Direct applicable knowledge of Production Systems development and “Start Right" methodologies
  • Effective change leader; Ability to build an environment of inclusion, transparency and trust
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and rally a team in challenging work environments

Summary pay range: $141,950 – $192,050
