Boeing Defense Space & Security is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Entry Level and Associate)  to join us as part of our Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Design & Production Engineering team located on the St. Louis site in Berkeley, MO.

The Advanced Airborne Sensor is a multifunction radar used on the P-8 Poseidon. The team is responsible for developing and performing design engineering for production, sustainment, modification and improvements of military and commercial derivative aircrafts. A successful candidate for this position will possess Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Customer Focus, Innovation, Project Management, and Engineering Judgment. In this role you will provide structural design and analysis, support the safety and producibility of the product, perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and coordinate engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.
  • Supports the development of design concepts/final design to contractual/producibility requirements for end item deliverables, this includes structural modifications, mechanical components, and primary and secondary structural detail/installation design for Development and Production purposes.
  • Performs limited detail design development and modification of structural components and mechanical and fluid system installations.
  • Supports team in performing spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems.
  • Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
  • Works under close supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work at the St. Louis site located in Berkeley, MO.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables
  • Experience using 3-D Computer Aided Engineering tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle

Summary Pay Range: Entry Level $65,450 – 88,550

Summary Pay Range: Associate  $76,500 – 103,500
