Boeing Defense Space and Security, (BDS), is hiring for a Senior Design andAnalysis Engineer (Electronic Sys Design & Analy) at our office located in Berkeley, MO.

BDS is a global leader in the development, production, maintenance and enhancement of fixed-wing and rotary wing aircraft, commercial and government satellites, human spaceflight programs and weapons. Key markets include aeronautics, space and weapons. Core capabilities are in development, production and mission enabling upgrades of integrated solutions.  BDS delivers the most digitally advanced, simply and efficiently produced and intelligently supported solutions to its customers.  

The Senior Design and Analysis Engineer will be responsible for leading weapon-to-platform integration. You will own integration architecture, verification strategy, and technical delivery; lead cross-functional integration activities spanning avionics, software, structures, and flight test; mentor engineers; and act as the technical point-of-contact for program stakeholders, suppliers, and certification authorities.

This role requires robust systems engineering rigor and strong judgment on risk and tradeoffs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own integration architecture and system-level interface control strategy (ICDs, buses, power, mechanical, data links) from concept through flight test and into production sustainment

  • Define and own verification & validation strategy (IV&V) for the program: traceability from requirements to test evidence and certification artifacts

  • Collaborate and coordinate with additional Test focused teams to ensure timely delivery of capabilities

  • Lead development and approval of integration and verification plans, acceptance criteria, test procedures, and data products required by Certification/Safety

  • Execute program plans and priorities using JIRA and MBSE tools

  • Serve as technical lead across cross-functional teams (avionics, software, test, manufacturing, suppliers); resolve escalation items and drive corrective action for integration anomalies

  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to mid/junior engineers; champion systems engineering best practices (MBSE, formal requirements traceability)

  • Act as the primary technical interface to suppliers; assess supplier integration approaches, conduct technical reviews, and lead root-cause/resolution for supplier-delivered anomalies

  • Drive risk management: identify integration risks, communicate to program leadership, and lead mitigation planning and trade studies

  • Coordinate with Certification/Safety and Security organizations; prepare and present technical briefings and program deliverables.

  • Contribute to organizational continuous improvement: capture lessons learned, tooling enhancements (e.g., DAQ, flight test instrumentation), and process improvements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.   

  •  A final Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry 

  • 9+ years of work-related experience with a bachelor’s or 7+ years of work-related experience with Masters or 4+ years with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • Systems Engineering lifecycle

  • Excellent Communications skills

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range:
Level 4: (Senior) $136,850 - $ 185,150
