The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer / Industrial Engineer IV to lead site‑level scenario planning and decision‑guidance activities at Berkeley, MO.

This role will design and maintain criteria‑based data and user input systems, translate executive and site leader objectives into quantitative decision criteria, and deliver clear, prioritized options that drive impactful decisions. The role combines deep industrial engineering, systems thinking, data/modeling skills, and strong stakeholder facilitation across leaders, peers, and cross‑functional teams.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead development and maintenance of scenario planning frameworks and decision‑guidance tools that translate site and executive priorities into actionable, ranked options.

  • Define and operationalize decision criteria (quantitative and qualitative), data sources, and user inputs to ensure scenario outputs are aligned to business objectives and constraints.

  • Build, validate, and maintain models and simulators (capacity, throughput, resource allocation, cost, risk) to support comparative scenario analyses and trade‑space exploration.

  • Create dashboards, visualizations and executive briefs that summarize scenarios, sensitivities, and recommended options for site leaders and senior executives.

  • Facilitate cross‑functional workshops to gather inputs, surface constraints, and align stakeholders on scenarios and recommended actions.

  • Partner with operations, supply chain, program management, finance and engineering to integrate scenario outputs into planning, risk mitigation, and capital decision processes.

  • Drive continuous improvement of data quality, model fidelity, and scenario cadence; standardize templates, assumptions, and governance for repeatable decision processes.

  • Support implementation planning and transition of selected options into execution, including metrics for monitoring and recovery plans where required.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, ergonomic, and Boeing design standards while balancing operational tradeoffs.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 9+ years work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of work-related experience and technical education.

  • Demonstrated experience in scenario planning, capacity planning, or simulation modeling for complex manufacturing or systems environments.

  • Strong data and analytical skills: experience building models, spreadsheets, or simulation tools; comfort with data wrangling and quantitative trade‑off analysis.

  • Proficient in stakeholder engagement and facilitation with leaders and cross‑functional teams; proven ability to synthesize inputs into prioritized decision options.

  • Hands‑on technical mindset: experience with at least one analytical or scripting tool (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB), and familiarity with data query/ETL (e.g., SQL).

  • Experience applying Lean principles and industrial engineering methods to site operations and improvement efforts.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • 5+ years’ experience leading cross functional teams and project management of planning/analysis programs.

  • Experience with discrete event simulation, optimization methods, or systems engineering approaches for trade space analysis.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and building executive dashboards.

  • Prior experience translating executive priorities into quantifiable decision criteria and governance for scenario selection.

  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing and working with large, integrated programs.
