Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a motivated and talented Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Teams in Berkeley, MO.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Provide engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.

  • Develop statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements.

  • Respond to changes to SOW, assesses the impact and negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.

  • Communicate with domestic and international customers on engineering support and technical meetings

  • Lead project execution to complete the work statement and identifies and tracks performance metrics.

  • Plan, identify, and coordinate resources required over the life of the project or program.

  • Define plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.

  • Compare actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.

  • Provide technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.

  • Work under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience working with and/or coordinating across engineering disciplines to identify best practices and ensure the successful completion of project or team plans

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team or a project

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiarity and experience working with requirements from MIL-STD-1530

  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance or ability to obtain U.S. Secret Clearance

  • Worked on military based Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs or industry equivalent

  • Experience with Individual Aircraft Tracking Program (IATP)

  • Experience with Structural Risk Analysis

  • 5+ years of fixed wing structural engineering experience

  • 3+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • 1+ year Control Account Manager (CAM) experience

  • Experience reviewing and/or writing Statement of Work (SOW) from defense contracts

  • Domestic and international customer communication and coordination experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $140,250 - $189,750
