The opportunity

We are seeking a talented EHS Specialist to join the Boeing Defence Australia Environmental Health and Safety Systems and Assurance team to be based in Brisbane and Amberley RAAF base.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking role as Environmental and Health & Safety subject matter expert
  • Support internal customers and Programs on Environmental and Health & Safety processes, issues and regulatory compliance
  • Perform inspection and audits, investigate incidents
  • Acts as primary interface with regulatory agencies and to prepare and submit permit or licence applications
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of BDA's Environmental Health and Safety Management System and associated software applications in accordance with company requirements and international Environmental and Health & Safety standards
  • Maintain the Environmental Health and Safety training needs analysis
  • Conducts education and training to support regulatory and business requirements
  • Proactively develop solutions to a variety of environmental, health and safety activities
  • Evaluate impacts of new regulations on company operations
  • Review vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance
  • Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve EHS reporting systems
  • Support data uplift for ongoing sustainability reporting for BDA and other Boeing owned subsidiaries in Australia under Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS).
  • Provide support to local Environmental Health and Safety teams for accurate data collection and entry.
  • Support accurate GHG Calculations and documentation management to support grading of data utilised.
  • Assist with implementation and ongoing operation of scope 3 calculations for ASRS.

To be successful you will have:

  • 5 or more years' related work experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Health & Safety or a related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Energy, passion, problem solving ability with can-do attitude  
  • Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements. An NV1 Security Clearance will be required.
