The opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Principal Integrated Logistics Support Acquisition Specialist to support the delivery of the Battlefield Communications Systems (BCS) franchise.

Reporting to the BCS Product Support Development Manager, you will work within the Battlespace Communications Systems Enterprise to undertake the design, development and maintenance of Support System solutions for Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) programs. Demonstrated experience coordinating Integrated Logistics Support solutions for ASDEFCON Acquisition programs is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

The Principal Integrated Logistics Support Acquisition Specialist provides subject matter expertise to BCS Program Managers, Integrated Logistics Support (Product Support) Team Leads, and Product Support team members for all aspects of the Support System from acquisition through to disposal. This role will significantly contribute Support System design and optimisation opportunities, and support BDA's demonstrated pedigree in designing, developing, and evolving complex sovereign communications systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead in defining product support requirements, including costs, technical objectives, definitions, statement of work breakdowns, reports, master schedules, program implementation, and integration plans for the Support System.
  • Coordinate the development, technical review, and implementation of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program Contractor / Subcontractor Data Required List (CDRL/SDRL) products in accordance with ASDEFCON.
  • Develop and implement BCS product support strategies that address Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements to meet customer material and system readiness objectives.
  • Work in partnership with the BCS Chief Engineers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and Program Managers to ensure Mission System Design is aligned with an effective Support System.
  • Demonstrate suitability of preferred Support System tools to optimise work performance while fulfilling customer requirements.
  • Coordinate resources to assist with the delivery of ILS reports such as FMECA, Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, Facility Requirements Analysis and/or Logistic Support Analysis.
  • Mentor and train junior ILS / Product Support team members, ensuring quality checks and process improvements.

To be successful it is essential that you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in complex Integrated Logistic Support or Support System environments as this is a Principal role.
  • Formal qualifications or significant demonstrated experience in delivering successful logistics / support systems analysis for major ASDEFCON acquisition programs.
  • Eligibility for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance.
  • Current Australian Citizenship.
  • Be able to work in Brisbane CBD.

To be successful it is highly desirable that you will be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to present technical guidance to several technical teams representing multiple skill areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and negotiate a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience in the estimating, planning, managing and reporting progress of Integrated Logistics Support work scope.
  • Experience working with Integrated Logistics Support standards; for example, MIL-STD-1388, DEF (AUST) 5691/5692, and GEIA-STD-0007C Logistics Product Data.
