We are looking for an experienced cyber security analyst with a strong governance, risk and compliance background, working knowledge of technical security controls and superb stakeholder engagement skills. The position will work in an existing team as an information security advisor and to support the development of System authorisation artefacts to achieve and maintain authorisation for Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) systems that enable the MQ-28 Program.

The role is based at Boeing's head office at 123 Albert St, Brisbane CBD with some occasional travel to RAAF Amberley and RAAF Woomera, SA.

The successful candidate would have a developed understanding in a wide variety of technologies with typical responsibilities involving:

  • Collaborate closely with engineers and technical SMEs to plan, develop and execute activities required to achieve and maintain system authorisation (accreditation).
  • Provide guidance information security governance best practices across the program.
  • Develop, review and deliver security plans, policies, procedures, audits, assessments to achieve and maintain system authorisation.
  • Engage technical SMEs, solution architects and engineers to provide input into security designs and requirements.
  • Identify susceptibility, survivability, and vulnerability (S/V) of systems based on the knowledge of characteristics and capabilities of threats.
  • Evaluate and respond to emerging security issues. Evaluate capability risk/gaps and take and/or coordinate actions to meet objectives.
  • Lead the team's agile execution cadence acting as the Cyber team's ScrumMaster. This involves facilitating regular sync/planning events, ensuring smooth task execution within the team and working with leadership to remove any impediments to team execution.
  • Collaborate with IT Security Offers as required following cyber incidents to support root cause analyses and recommend and/or implements corrective actions. Test and implement risk mitigation processes and tools, monitor outcomes and act as required.
  • Participate in the evaluation of process effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

To be successful you will have:

  • A deep working knowledge of Australian Defence security framework and associated policies and procedures including familiarity with the ISM, DSPF and PSPF.
  • An understanding of the development and implementation of information security practices in an engineering environment.
  • Experience with the system authorisation processes for Australian government (Defence) and developing associated authorisation packs.
  • Proven experience evaluating, documenting and articulating complex risk scenarios.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to a broad and diverse audience.
  • A desire to work as part of a dynamic team supporting a diverse range of Operational Technology and Information Technology.
  • Industry recognised information security qualification (CISSP, CRISC, CISM, ISO 270001, IRAP, etc.) and or relevant experience.
  • Desirable to have an active Australian Security Clearance at the NV1 Level with the ability to upgrade to NV2.
