This is a senior, hands‑on role focused on developing and applying procedures and practices to manage the record lifecycle, ensuring the quality, accessibility and proper retention of records in accordance with legal and organisational requirements. The successful applicant will need to engage stakeholders, change organisational practices, champion records management, and drive continuous improvement.

What you'll do

  • Lead research, evaluation and adoption of RIM industry standards and best practices to inform enterprise strategy.
  • Develop and implement RIM frameworks, policies, procedures, controls and standards that align with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Plan and execute the RIM Program: program structure, policies, tools/systems, communications, training and performance measures for a global enterprise program office.
  • Oversee the design, implementation and ongoing management of records management systems (physical and digital) and associated vendor contracts, statements of work and supplier oversight activities.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain the global record retention schedule and ensure consistent implementation across functions; define and deploy metrics to measure and report compliance.
  • Monitor, track and report compliance metrics; perform gap analyses and develop remediation plans for retention‑hold and audit findings.
  • Provide leadership and direction for key RIM business processes and for RIM Specialists and enterprise functional partners; answer lifecycle management questions and resolve escalated issues.
  • Develop and deliver training, communications and change initiatives to uplift RIM culture, behaviours and capabilities.

Key responsibilities (summary)

  • Policy, standards and framework development for records and information management, including program planning, deployment and continuous improvement.
  • System design/oversight, vendor statements of work and contract coordination, supplier performance monitoring.
  • Compliance monitoring, metrics definition, audits, gap analysis and remediation.
  • Training, user and RIM focal support, escalation resolution and stakeholder engagement.

Required qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Library Science, Records Management, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in records management, information management, or a closely related discipline — preferably with enterprise/global program exposure.
  • In‑depth knowledge of RIM principles, lifecycle management, retention schedules, legal/regulatory requirements and audit processes.
  • Experience with electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS), lifecycle tools and relevant technologies.
  • Proven experience developing RIM policies, procedures, retention schedules and compliance programs, including training.
  • Experience leading vendor oversight and coordinating with Supply Chain or procurement.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives, coach staff and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; comfortable performing gap analyses and developing pragmatic remediation plans.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to shape and lead a global RIM program with direct impact on compliance and records practices.
  • A collaborative, cross‑functional environment where your policies and programs will drive measurable improvements in records and information management.
  • Ongoing professional development and the chance to mentor and build capability in RIM across the enterprise.
