Boeing Defence Australia's MQ-28 Ghost Bat Program is developing and producing the world-leading MQ-28 Ghost Bat uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft.

Within the MQ-28 Program, the Supply Chain Management provides the Program with all aspects of supplier commercial management support, including creating and awarding contracts, managing our supplier pipeline and warehousing support, and managing the supply chains that underpin the successful execution of the program.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a talented SeniorSubcontracts Specialist to support the MQ-28 Subcontracts team. As a part of a highly collaborative and motivated team, you will:

  • Be the focal point for the supply-chain aspects of MQ-28 development sub-projects and incremental upgrades;
  • Identify gaps in the supply chain and create novel strategies to mitigate risks and deliver capability to the program;
  • be the focal point for your suppliers and program stakeholders, and provide guidance and advice to the program on all aspects of your suppliers' commercial, contractual and production capabilities.
  • be responsible for leading supplier contracting activities, including developing and managing timely and high-quality supplier procurements, leading to contract administration/execution and order management.
  • be a champion for your suppliers internally, and manage a close working relationship with your suppliers as an Authorised Procurement Agent for Boeing Defence Australia;
  • contribute directly to the success of the MQ-28 supply chain and the production of this world-leading capability.

About the role

  • Leads the Supply Chain aspects of MQ-28 sub-projects;
  • Draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including NDAs, development, manufacturing and support services contracts and contract variations;
  • Develop procurement strategies and priorities and lead their delivery through strong stakeholder relationships and understanding program requirements;
  • Conduct complex approach to market activities (RFx), analyse and evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate supplier deviations to subcontract provisions and recommend final supplier selection;
  • Monitor and report subcontract cost, schedule and status and recommend or implement corrective action as necessary;
  • Participate in the development of process improvement initiatives and value for money opportunities;
  • Provide advice to project managers and other business stakeholders on all subcontracting activities related to your program of work;
  • Authority to prepare, negotiate, execute, interpret and administer legally binding complex contractual agreements for The Boeing Company.

Coordinates and partners with other internal functional disciplines.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a collaborative team approach, well developed analytical skills and excellent written and verbal skills.You must be someone who can work autonomously who is comfortable driving continuous improvement with your suppliers.

Essential:

  • Formal qualifications in a related discipline (Law, Accounting, Business or Supply Chain Management).
  • At least 5-8 years' experience in Supplier Management, Procurement and Contracting, contracting or contract management roles;
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management to drive outcomes;
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, contract management, and procurement throughout the full end-to-end lifecycle;
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills;
  • An enthusiasm for working with suppliers and identifying new opportunities and relationships;
  • The ability to work with cross functional teams;
  • The ability to work autonomously to see projects and opportunities through to completion

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in formulating innovative contractual and commercial acquisition and sustainment strategies for supplier procurements;
  • Up to date knowledge of IP, liabilities, insurance, indemnities, pricing and procurement concepts
  • Demonstrated experience in the Defence industry
  • Strong commercial acumen
