Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Propulsion Systems Production Support Manager (Level K) to lead the Engine & Fuel Systems Engineering Team for the 787-program located in North Charleston, SC.

This position will have a strong emphasis on production and delivery support. As the senior manager, you will directly manage a multi-disciplinary engineering staff that enables airplane production, timely deliveries, fleet safety, certification readiness and product sustainment. The role demands technical depth in engine and fuel systems, frontline program leadership, and the ability to put in place standard work and robust processes that deliver predictable, high-quality outputs and rapid resolution of production issues.

A successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record supporting production and delivery on a major airplane program, including troubleshooting, corrective action closure, and cross-functional coordination to clear delivery impediments

  • A deep knowledge of engine and fuel system architectures, pumps, valves, fuel management, fuel tank safety, failure modes, controllers, etc.  for commercial aircraft

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at technical and executive levels

Leadership & Behavioral Competencies such as:

  • Tactical, hands-on leader focused on production outcomes and delivery commitments

  • Coach and developer of frontline talent who fosters accountability and problem ownership

  • Collaborative across functions, decisive under pressure, and customer-focused with high integrity and commitment to safety

Position Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage, hire, mentor, and retain the engine & fuel systems engineering team supporting production, deliveries, and in-service fleet health

  • Provide daily production and delivery support: troubleshoot line issues, lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and ensure timely disposition of non-conformances to avoid delivery delays

  • Act as primary engineering interface for propulsion suppliers, OEM systems teams, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, certification, flight test, safety, and customer support to clear technical blockers and enable aircraft deliveries

  • Define and enforce standard work, engineering processes, and operating rhythms (gating, peer/design reviews, risk management, configuration control) to produce predictable, auditable engineering products

  • Drive engineering solutions that balance safety, reliability, producibility, maintainability, and lifecycle cost while championing risk-based decisions and continuous improvement

  • Establish measurable performance metrics (e.g., time-to-resolution for production issues, first-pass yield, defect rates, engineering throughput) and use data to prioritize actions that support production and delivery goals

  • Manage budget, staffing, and resource allocation to meet production commitments and program milestones

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
