The Boeing Company is seeking an Accounting PolicySenior Manager to join our team in one of the following locations:

  • Illinois: Chicago
  • Missouri: Berkeley
  • Washington: Seattle

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

This dynamic and highly visible position involves partnering with Boeing's Corporate Development group and other functions across Boeing to provide accounting policy guidance, under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, for all of the Company’s acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture transactions (Merger and Acquisition (M&A) transactions).

The ideal candidate for this position is a leader with strong communication, collaboration, problem solving and project management skills.  This position reports to the Director of Accounting Policy located in Chicago, IL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Primary M&A transaction liaison between Boeing's Accounting function and the Corporate Development group, Business Unit Controllers, multiple other functions (tax, IT, etc.), internal & external auditors, and third-party valuation experts
  • Manage and perform the accounting due diligence process and support integration for all M&A transactions
  • Identify key accounting risks for M&A transactions and recommend mitigations
  • Provide accounting policy guidance on such matters including consolidation, purchase price allocation, goodwill impairment testing, equity method accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory valuation
  • Communicate accounting due diligence results and integration priorities to executive leadership
  • Prepare technical accounting whitepapers including performing research and coordinating with external auditors
  • Manage relationship with third party valuation experts and preparation of the opening balance sheet for acquisitions
  • Manage goodwill impairment testing process
  • Monitor accounting standard setters and support implementation of new accounting pronouncements
  • Encourage and motivate employees to identify process improvements
  • Develop and strengthen specific knowledge and skills of the accounting team

This position is hybrid.  This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.  This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Required Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting
  • Currently a manager or previously held a manager position

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 8+ years of experience in industry and/or public accounting
  • Experience working for a Big 4 accounting firm
  • Experience in technical accounting and/or mergers and acquisitions activity through industry and/or public accounting

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for IL and WA: $177,650 - $240,350

Summary pay range for MO: $165,750 - $224,250
