The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Space and Launch Division, is seeking a Senior Communications and Networks System Engineer (Level 4) to join the Red LAN program in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Communications and Networks System Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity projects. As a member of our team, you will support creation and documentation of the Red LAN multi-site ground infrastructure designs in support of the Red LAN program execution.  This position will conduct research, document and deployment of emerging technologies and techniques.  This role will help support the maintenance of Red LAN networks and computing systems as it relates to Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure performance of existing infrastructure, maintain configuration of infrastructure devices and troubleshoot infrastructure as necessary to resolve issues

  • Maintain infrastructure documentation

  • Provide support for the design, validation and configuration management of network and computing systems

  • Install hardware equipment and associated cabling as required

  • Analyze and troubleshoot anomalies to determine the root cause and corrective actions

  • Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture

  • Comply with cybersecurity requirements (RMF) by performing hardening and patching on network devices and PCs, installing & maintaining required monitoring software and providing CONOPS as required

  • Regular on-console work as responsible engineer for facility network and terrestrial communications devices

  • Work with multi-skill team to accomplish team objectives

  • Support end of service life status on all network and Red LAN hardware, software and developing mitigation plans as needed

  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues

  • Provide technical solutions and work collaboratively with stakeholders on their needs, goals, expectations, and sensitivities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post-Start is required

  • 3+ years of experience working with maintenance of Cisco switches, routers, wireless, command line interface and network protocols

  • 3+ years of experience leading network security infrastructure (Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Access Control Lists) projects

  • 3+ years of experience working on Department Of War Program(s)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current CCNA, CCNP and/or CISSP Certification

  • Network & related skills: Cisco configuration, Wireshark

  • Experience writing scripts to collect network device status and to perform software upgrades

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Translate security policies and procedures into technical architecture

  • Experience installing, monitoring, and maintaining infrastructure solutions

  • Experience with COMSEC equipment

  • Security +, CEH, CISA or other DOD 8570.01 IAT Certification

Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $136,850.00 - $185,150.00
