The Boeing Company is looking for a highly experienced, strategic and execution focused Principal SAP Architect to join the team in Kent, WA; Seattle, WA; Tukwila, WA; Dallas, TX; Hazelwood, MO; Ridley Park, PA; Arlington, VA; or Miami, FL.

We are seeking a strategic and highly experienced Principal Architect to lead the design, integration, and delivery of SAP solutions tailored for the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry. This individual will architect and guide SAP-enabled transformations, ensuring alignment with complex manufacturing, program-centric operations, regulatory compliance, and government cost accounting standards (e.g., Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)). This role demands individuals to define robust forward looking strategy leveraging modern technology tools and services to translate the strategy into execution for Boeing Global Services Business. Also, this role is expected to have the ability to drive large multi-year transformation and  help the team to resolve complex cross functional problems and challenges.

A successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent Business Process and SAP Architecture leadership, SAP System Configuration & Development skills in Supply Chain Value streams – Plan to Produce (PL2PR), Procure to Pay (P2P), Order to Cash (O2C), Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) driving processes, solutions related design and delivery on large scale transformation programs for Boeing Defense and Space. Additionally, you will focus on partnering with other Functional and Technical Managers, Program Managers, SAP Architects, Analysts (Business and IT) leading design, delivery, and governance of Boeing S/4 enterprise baseline/template focusing on reusability, scalability, and first time quality.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end cross-functional Process and Solution architecture for SAP MRO/Services and aftermarket segments enabled by S/4 HANA

  • Define Enterprise Transitional and Target-state Application architecture on a multi-year roadmap (greenfield, brownfield, selective transition) aligned with Business transformation goals

  • Drive Architecture Roadmaps and Governance: produce capability maps, Process and solution models, data flow diagrams, Platform integration patterns and ensure conformity through architecture review boards and release gating

  • Lead and prepare Architecture briefings, cost/risk/benefit trade-offs, roadmap prioritization and securing executive stakeholder buy-in

  • Define Master data strategy and governance for serialized assets, part traceability (unique part-serial), configurations where applicable, and lifecycle traceability required for airworthiness and sustainment

  • Design spare parts commerce and aftermarket sales (SAP) including order-to-cash for repairable, consumables and routable assets; pricing, billing, revenue recognition, returns and warranty workflows

  • Act as a Design Authority for multi-release transformation programs: author and enforce Architecture, solution blueprints, interface contracts, and change control

  • Provide technical leadership to Configuration and Application Development teams, vendors and system integrators; mentor architects and lead engineers and develop architecture competency within the organization

  • Perform process and solution design governance design reviews

  • Architect secure integrations between SAP and domain systems: (e.g., Teamcenter), Internet of Things (IoT)/condition-monitoring platforms, flight ops systems, and Service Cloud

  • Ensure compliance with industry/regulatory/security requirements: airworthiness records, export controls (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)/Export Administration Regulations (EAR)), DFARS, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 integration; embed controls into processes and systems

  • Lead technical due diligence and vendor selection; justify platform choices (S/4HANA, SAP Commerce, middleware) and evaluate non-functional fit (scalability, security, compliance)

  • Support testing, cutover, migration and stabilization: data migration strategy (Master Data Governance (MDG)/Master Data Management (MDM), S/4 migration cockpit), cutover runbooks, Regulatory test plans and hypercare

  • Advise on cloud strategy and operating model for SAP and adjacent services (private/hybrid/hyperscaler, RISE with SAP); provide reference architectures, HANA sizing and landscape guidance

  • Define observability and operations model: Service Level Agreements (SLAs)/Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), incident response/runbooks, capacity planning, logging/monitoring and integration for audit evidence

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience with Information Technology experience with SAP supporting large and complex business environments

  • 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture and/or Delivery Systems Architecture

  • 10+ years of experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • SAP S/4 HANA certified, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), Signavio Process Modeling, Enterprise Architecture (EA) Modeling tools (LeanIx etc)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $142,000 - $207,000
