The Opportunity

Join a world-class team sustaining the Royal Australian Air Force's airborne surveillance, communications and maritime patrol capability — the P‑8A Poseidon. We are seeking an Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join the P‑8A Team.  In this role you will provide warehousing expertise for our Australian Customer.

This position is based at RAAF Base Edinburgh SA.

Why this role matters

This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of receipt, dispatch, and inventory control activities. Ideal candidates will possess experience in material management, warehousing, basic freight booking, operation of manual handling equipment, and preferably, familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite applications.

Your work ensures the fleet can meet evolving threats and mission demands across the globe, directly contributing to operational success and the ongoing safety of aircrew and ADF personnel.

As a Shipping & Receiving Specialist at Boeing you will:

  • Processing inventory management system transactions to support project activities as required;
  • Management and control of inventory accounts including serviceable, repairable, quarantine and disposal accounts in accordance with Boeing and Defence policy and procedures;
  • Gaining knowledge and experience in all aspects of receipt, storage, handling, packaging & shipping and issuing of inventory at the project warehouse facility;
  • Assisting multiple stakeholders, both internal and external.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supply support roles and functions;
  • Forklift license preferred, but not essential;
  • Desire to gain in-depth knowledge and experience with computerised inventory management systems and methodologies;
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, enabling open and effective communication among stakeholders;
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite;

Security requirement

  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
