Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Flight Operations Manager (L-Level) to join the T-7A Manufacturing & Safety team located in Edwards Airforce Base, CA.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced environment supporting flight test and operations for the T-7A Red Hawk Program. The T-7A Red Hawk is a brand-new trainer for all future Airforce pilots. In this role, you will be the primary Maintenance focal interacting with Airforce team members in addition to the Boeing team.

Position may require travel to BDS site locations and other Air Force Bases according to business conditions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers performing activities within multiple maintenance disciplines

  • Ensures that air vehicles are completed and pass certification for airworthiness by overseeing systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, preflight and postflight checks, and AC release for flight.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with flight crew, engineering, management, suppliers, and customers to meet business objectives

  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives

  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience working in a flight test operations environment

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives and projects to meet business objectives and influence change

  • Experience problem solving and supporting corrective action plans

  • Experience in fast paced environment with a multi-faceted team

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Current Active Secret Security Clearance or higher

  • Experience working at an Airforce base supporting test operations

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience

  • Highly effective communication skills with senior leadership

  • Familiarity USAF IMDS, 781 forms & AFI 21-101

  • Experience managing contractors

  • Excellent people skills (coaching / teaching / integrating functions towards a common goal)

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Salary Range: $138,850 to $185,150
