The Boeing Company is looking for Entry-level Software Engineers–Developer to be part of the Satellite Space Mission Systems team located in El Segundo, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

The selected candidate will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the design, development, test, and maintenance of software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle

  • Assist with development, maintenance, and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations

  • Participate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings

  • Debug and resolve issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products

  • Support software development, participate in code reviews, and adhere to guidance on software standards and design principles.

  • Execute and document software research and development projects

  • Assists in developing, establishing, monitoring and improving software processes

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic

  • Experience working on a software development project that follows Agile and Scrum methodologies

  • Experience with Git

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (Interim prestart, final post start)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience in software development.

  • Experience with full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through formal qualification

  • Knowledge software design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software design that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints

  • Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software

  • Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety

Summary Pay Range / Entry-level: $83,300 - $112,700
