We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Leader to join the Space, Intelligence, and Weapons Systems EHS team in El Segundo, CA to help us ensure and maintain employee safety, compliance with applicable EHS regulations and requirements, and to drive continuous improvement.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This leader will apply a strategic lens to drive health and safety excellence across our Space and Intelligence systems divisions.The work will require flexibility, curiosity, collaboration, and ability to influence outcomes in order to drive Boeing’s commitment to ensure compliance, foster a proactive safety culture, and enable mission success for critical defense and space programs.

The successful candidate will have a strong solutions orientation, be a self-starter, and have the ability to translate strategy into approaches, measures, and outcomes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages and develops employees and first-level managers performing activities to ensure health and safety requirements are met, including coordinating site inspections, interfacing with regulatory agencies, assessing risks and conducting relevant training, at El Segundo, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, Houston, TX, and several small sites

  • Partners with program(s) and site(s) leadership to integrate safety into design, production, testing, and operations of space and defense systems

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DoD, NASA, and other regulatory bodies, as well as Boeing’s internal safety and sustainability standards

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in hazard identification, risk reduction, incident investigation, and safety management systems

  • Serve as primary interface with internal stakeholders for space and intelligence systems as well as external regulatory agencies and industry partners

  • Champion a safety-first culture through training, communication, employee engagement, and recognition programs

  • Track, analyze, and report on key EHS metrics to senior executives, highlighting trends for improvement

  • Influence long-term strategy for EHS innovation, including digital tools, predictive analytics, and sustainability initiatives

This position will require up to 20% travel as needed.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience implementing or leading an environmental, health, and safety management system/program

  • 5+ years of experience in influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and leaders across functions

  • 1+ years of Experience with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in a managerial role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, DoD, NASA, etc.)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $150,450 - $203,550
