Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS)Space Mission Systems (SMS) organization is seeking a highly motivated Senior Technology Development Manager to support the Common Products team located in El Segundo, California.

The role partners in shaping long‑range product strategy and leads cross-functional execution to advance Boeing’s space platforms, payloads, mission software, autonomy, and enabling technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversees execution of Technology development of payloads, bus platforms, autonomy, digital architectures, and mission software.
  • Implements long-term product strategies across spacecraft, sensing payloads, and comprehensive mission solutions.
  • Aligns product development with requirements for affordability, producibility, and product readiness dates.
  • Leads teams in performing capability analyses, competitive assessments, and technology horizon evaluations to inform strategic product line decisions.
  • Collaborates with business development and engineering teams executing Internal Research and Development (IRAD) product line investments.
  • Delivers analytical, architectural, and business-case support to internal leadership.
  • Mentors Common Products team members and assists with Program Management execution

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Physics or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering or leadership experience in a space related field
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects or teams
  • 5+ years of experience in technology development

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with the concepts of Model Based Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital System Modeling
  • Experience with IRAD management, business case development, and product line economics.

Travel: Some travel may be required up to 10% of the time

Summary pay range: $218,450 - $295,550
