The Boeing Company is looking for Software Engineers–Developer (Associate / Experienced) to be part of the Satellite Space Mission Systems team located in El Segundo. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

The selected candidate will support the development of mission software written in Java, C++, Python, ReactJS. The candidate will collaborate with cross functional teams and stakeholders to design and implement software solutions, ensure engineering excellence, and achieve program objectives.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards

  • Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for systems integrations

  • Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products

  • Participate in the agile software development lifecycle including planning, reviews, and supporting customer meetings

  • Debug and resolve issues identified to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products

  • Perform software development, participate in code reviews, and adhere to guidance on software standards and design principles.

  • Implement current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development

  • Develop, establish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics that align with organization goals and industry benchmarks

  • Execute and document software research and development projects

  • Advise on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in software development

  • 1+ years of experience with software integration and end-to-end testing methodologies

  • 1+ years of experience with modern programming and scripting languages such as C++, Java, JavaScript, Perl, Python, Visual Basic

  • Experience working on a software development project that follows Agile and Scrum methodologies

  • Experience collaborating across multi-discipline engineering team

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (Interim prestart, final post start)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with full software development lifecycle that includes requirements analysis through formal qualification

  • Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints

  • Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software

  • Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range / Associate: $106,250 - $143,750

Summary Pay Range / Experienced: $135,150 - $182,850

Security Clearance
