Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) has an exciting opportunity for a 777X development program Environmental Control Systems First Line Manager (Level K) to lead one of our mechanical systems teams in Everett, WA.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be a reliable and determined professional who possesses the ability to work well with diverse groups and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries. The candidate will be a problem solver and a leader who can effectively characterize, prioritize, and implement technical solutions in fast paced development environment. The candidate will lead and support a mechanical systems team with focus on safety, certification, design, and systems engineering. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages mechanical engineers for the 777X development programs focused on systems engineering, design and development assurance. 

  • Inspiring and empowering a domestic and international teams through collaboration, communication, and caring

  • Develops and executes plans to meet the program schedules with a strong focus on high-quality engineering. 

  • Provides coaching for team development, demonstrates seek/speak/listen habits, and ensures lessons learns are documented for future knowledge sharing. 

  • Proactively manages budget, staffing, and overall resources to ensure team success. 

  • Develops and improves relationships with customers, stakeholders, regulators, partners, suppliers, and direct reports. 

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA. 

This position requires up to 25% of travel based on business needs.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.​

  • 5+ years of experience with aerospace systems, design, and certification processes. 

  • Experience leading or managing an engineering team. 

  • Experience in project planning, estimating, and execution. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with systems engineering, safety analysis, equipment qualification, control logic, design and certification.  

  • Skill leading successful supplier and customer engagements. 

  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in engineering challenges.

  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to all stakeholders.

  • Solid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

$147,050 - $198,950
