The Boeing Company is seeking a Communications Specialist (Experienced or Senior) to join the Communications and Brand team in Everett, WA.

The successful candidate will bring curiosity, a creative spirit, sound judgment and proven skills in communications strategy, writing, event planning and executive consulting.

Position Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with technical experts and communications peers, develops, owns and executes strategic communications for the Boeing 777 Freighter and 777-8 Freighter airplanes

    • Grasps complex, detailed information and translates it into clear and compelling communications

    • Applies knowledge of fundamental communications and branding principles to create and coordinate compelling content for internal and external audiences

    • Presents special emphasis on storytelling (written and video) to demonstrate progress and momentum in airplane manufacturing, certification and delivery

    • Plans and manages the promotion of stories, including internally and, when warranted, with key media

    • Prepares responses to media inquiries about development program activities

  • Anticipates, plans for and manages through issues; ensures awareness of potential issues; prepares messaging and communications; coordinates business and functional approvals

  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert in Communications and point of entry for other communicators on the 777 Freighter, 777-8 Freighter and in-production freighters generally

  • Represents Communications on the 777-8 Freighter leadership team, attending program meetings and advising executives on Communications

  • Collaborates closely and regularly with the primary 777/777X communicator, 777/777X and freighter brand managers, the freighter MarComm team, Media Relations and Customer (Sales) Communications to ensure alignment

  • Collaborates closely with Everett site communicator to ensure internal audiences are captured in distribution lists and to feed development content into site and manager communications

  • Remains curious and unafraid to ask questions to continue learning

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications or a related field

  • 3+ years of experience working as part of a team or leading teams

  • Experience distilling complex, technical and abstract concepts into concise messaging and stories

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • This position requires onsite work. Must be willing to work 5 days a week onsite at the listed location

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Demonstrated 5 years of experience working as part of a team or leading teams

  • Self-directed, works with high autonomy, takes initiative, mentors others

  • Video production experience

  • Familiarity with social media platforms

  • Event planning experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Level 3: $90,100 – $121,900

Summary pay range for Level 4: $115,600 - $156,400
