Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Digital Engineering Manager (K Level) to support our team based in Everett, Washington.

Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a positive, forward thinking, and energetic team of technical and engineering professionals to support BCA Digital Engineering organizational objectives and Leadership focus areas. In this role, you will support leadership managing the integration, development, and/or execution of technical roadmaps and multi-million-dollar digital investments across BCA engineering functions, in alignment with enterprise digital engineering strategy.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of First Line Managers including;

1. Process Architecture Manager

Lead the Process Architecture team responsible for defining and governing end-to-end engineering processes and tooling across the PLM landscape, partnering with Engineering functions, manufacturing, and IT to translate business needs into a coherent process and data architecture. This first-line manager will own team performance, capability development, and the architectural standards that guide solution design and change governance.

2.Multi-Program Engineering Operations Manager

Lead a team focused on focused on driving the development and enhancement of processes, capabilities, and tools that support Program Engineering Operations teams in their ability execute on engineering statement of work such as engineering release, integration, certification, and metrics.

3. Analysis & Simulation Integration Manager

Lead the adoption and integration of analysis and simulation platform capabilities across engineering disciplines. This role involves partnering closely with various engineering teams to understand their functional requirements and support the development and deployment of effective solutions. The manager will also identify computing infrastructure needs, promote standardization by recognizing commonalities across disciplines, and ensure seamless integration of platform functionalities to enhance engineering productivity and collaboration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Engineering Product Lifecycle.

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Everett, WA. Occasional travel to Renton, WA might be required based on business need.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience working with internal or external stakeholders (e.g. business partners, airline customers, finance, external suppliers, etc.)

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree or higher in Engineering or MBA

  • 5+ years of experience working on commercial airplane programs or providing technical support to airplane owners/operators or relevant industry experience2+ years of experience leading engineering teams

  • Experience in one of more of the following areas: change management, change classification, certification, engineering release, technical/product integration

  • Experience on a Program Engineering Operations team

  • Experience applying architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, UAF, or SysML to enterprise-scale process and data design across the PLM/ERP/MES boundary.

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in the adoption and integration of engineering software platforms or simulation tools.

  • Proven ability to lead with the Boeing Values and Behaviors.

  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement.

  • Proven ability to manage and empower teams in ambiguous environments.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

$137,000 - $185,000
