Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Prevention and Work MovementTeam, based out of Everett, WA.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will work on developing and implementing preventive measures/processes to identify and mitigate risk in the supply base. The selected candidate will work within a start-up and diverse team and in a dynamic environment to shape the long-term strategy for escape prevention.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers supports existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation

  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements and takes an active role in internal process improvement

  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements

  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities

  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs and future supplier contracts

  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions

  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances

  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and address risks associated with work movement within the supply base

  • Works under general direction

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field from an ABET accredited institution

  • 4+ years’ experience working in a quality job role

  • 4+ years’ experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes and implementing corrective actions

  • 4+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

  • Experience working with Quality Standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14000

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with risk Assessment Methodologies and experience in supplier audits (e.g. FMEA, system, product and process audit assessment)

  • Experience, and at least considered an intermediate user, with office tools such Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with utilizing analytic skills: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

  • Experience in the aerospace industry

  • Experience with conducting First Article Inspection and/or reviewing AS9102 forms

  • Experience with Engineering Process Improvement Methods: Knowledge of producibility and process improvement methodologies (e.g., statistical process control [SPC], 6-Sigma

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Ability to present technical findings to various levels of leadership

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Shift:

Successful candidates will work 1st shift, but should expect to work flexible hours as appropriate to business needs.

Summary Pay Range: $100,000 - $127,500
