Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Knowledge Based Engineer to support Equipment and Tool Engineering function for the Production Engineering organization. This is an on-site position and can be worked from Everett, Renton or Auburn sites. Our production system is constantly reviewed for safety, quality and flow improvements, as well as new technology.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to interact with various functions including Software Engineering , Design Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and teams directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

This is knowledge based engineering development, implementation, and improvement role. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Support development, testing and implementation of Knowledge Based Engineering automation for the full Equipment and Tool Engineering Value Stream.
  • Maintain and Monitor Database health and ensure system reliability.
  • Develop and update CATIA automation applications such as PASTE and TEEA.
  • Develop and manage Web based Applications.
  • Utilize data to identify opportunities for process efficiencies
  • Collaborate with IT on system development and access.
  • Manage and execute value stream projects.
  • Analyze current designs/architecture to evaluate for improvement and investigate alternative solutions to meet the producibility requirements.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET is a preferred, although not required, accreditation standard)
  • 2 or more years’ related engineering work experience or a Masters of Science degree in an accredited STEM program

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2 or more years of experience working in a production environment
  • 2 or more years of experience with programming, integrating or troubleshooting industrial automation utilizing programming languages such as Java and SQL, C#, VB.net.
  • 2 or more years of 3D modeling experience (CATIA preferred)
  • 2 or more years of technical writing experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in data analysis
  • 2 or more years of Project Management experience
  • Experience with Database Management.

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

  • Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400
  • Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $96,050 - $129,950
  • Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $118,150 - $159,850
