Boeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for Maintenance Utility Workers to join our Facilities team in Puget Sound including Everett, Washington.

As a Maintenance Utility Worker, you will be an essential part of our team, supporting a wide range of facility maintenance and construction activities that keep our operations running smoothly. Your role will involve hands-on work across various trades, from equipment upkeep and minor repairs to assisting with construction projects and material handling. This position offers the opportunity to develop multiple skills, collaborate with various departments, and contribute directly to the efficiency and functionality of our facility’s infrastructure.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and plan work assignments from dispatch, supervisors, or maintenance systems, including obtaining and interpreting drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.

  • Perform lockout, tagout, and tryout procedures to ensure safety when working on or around machinery and equipment.

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as air filter replacement, lubrication, oil changes, cleaning, and refueling of automotive and plant equipment.

  • Assist with assembly, disassembly, relocation, and setup of scaffolding and equipment using mechanical lifts, cranes, jacks, and other rigging tools.

  • Perform minor plumbing repairs and replacements, including faucets, p-traps, sinks, and pipe cutting and threading.

  • Repair, replace, and maintain lighting systems, including bulbs, fixtures, wiring, and electrical components.

  • Carry out general construction and maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, ceiling and floor tile replacement, door installation, and furniture movement.

  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal and sheet metal components, including drip pans, flashings, and other custom parts using welding, soldering, and cutting techniques.

  • Operate hand and power tools, shop equipment, and mechanical lifts to perform maintenance, repair, and construction duties.

  • Handle, transfer, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Collaborate and consult with leads, supervisors, engineers, customers, and project administrators on job-related issues and project requirements.

  • Assist higher-classified employees and other crafts in maintenance, construction, and rigging tasks as needed.

  • Maintain service records, clean work areas, and ensure proper delivery and storage of materials and equipment.

  • Perform excavation work such as digging ditches and foundations, mixing concrete and plaster, and preparing construction sites.

  • Work from diagrams, prints, specifications, and verbal orders to accurately complete assigned tasks and ensure compliance with job requirements.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

  • Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

  • Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

  • Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

  • Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

  • Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

  • Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with facility/plant repair and maintenance (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc)

  • 1+ years of experience performing jobs or tasks using the following computer programs (Internet Navigation, Microsoft Office, Email)

  • This position requires an individual when working at heights to utilize fall protection equipment that has weight limitations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in any of the following fields: carpentry, painting, welding, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing or millwright

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Shift Work Statement:

This position is for 2nd shift. Working other shifts and/or overtime varies based on business needs.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $23.00 – $47.22 per hour
