The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Computing Architect to join the team in Everett, WA

The Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) Information Data Technology & Security (IDT&S) Office of the CIO — Architecture organization is seeking a Mid-Level Computing Architect to document and drive transitional architectures that move engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain systems toward a modern target state. This role serves as the integrator between business stakeholders and information technology (IT) product managers/solution architects to capture the current (as is) landscape, define interim transition architectures, and produce pragmatic migration plans that minimize business disruption.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Under guidance, document transitional (interim) architecture patterns and reference designs that enable phased migration while supporting ongoing operations

  • Produce migration roadmaps and sequencing (wave planning) including interim interfaces, canonical data models, adapters, and decommissioning plans

  • Collaborate with IT product managers, solution architects, and engineering leads to convert transition architectures into epics, features, acceptance criteria, and implementation tasks

  • Document integration and data migration strategies (e.g., Extract-Transform-Load (ETL), streaming, application programming interface (API) gateways, event meshes) and validate against performance, security, and compliance requirements

  • Establish architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails for transitional components (e.g., security, observability, error handling, retry/backpressure, service level agreement (SLA) expectations)

  • Track risks, technical debt, and long lead dependencies; propose mitigations and escalation paths

  • Communicate transition plans, business impacts, and timelines to senior leadership and business owners; maintain stakeholder alignment

  • Measure and report modernization progress and architecture compliance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in program or portfolio management with enterprise-scale data migrations or modernizations

  • 3+ years of experience in providing architecture (including business, application, integration, security, or infrastructure architecture) support to a project or domain that consists of multiple applications and/or technologies

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud, Containerization and Automation

  • 3+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Relevant certifications (TOGAF, SAFe, cloud architect certifications)

  • Experience with PLM, MES, ERP, WMS/TMS, supplier portals, or shop floor automation systems

  • Experience with canonical data models and MDM implementations

  • Experience creating migration wave plans and validating pilots/prototypes

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $125,800 – $170,200
