The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Core Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team in Everett, Washington is defining and re-establishing standards for Systems Engineering for current and future programs including new product development initiatives.  We are seeking Mid-Level, Senior or Principal Systems Engineers to partner with Systems Engineering Technical Leaders in the development, implementation, and maintenance of standards for Requirements Definition, Validation, and Verification.  Highly desired candidates have hands-on experience applying Systems Engineering Requirements principles on airplane programs or other complex products.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, refine, and manage through deployment: Requirements processes guidance, engineering tool requirements and risk, issue, and opportunities
  • In collaboration with Requirements Technical Lead Engineer lead, coach, and advise Core Systems Engineering, Program, and Functional teams on the effective incorporation and adherence to Requirements and Systems Engineering standards.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex cross-functional, cross-domain, and cross-program technical issues to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products
  • Perform comprehensive analyses to optimize total system-of-systems and/or system architecture.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS.
  • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, standards, and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with conducting reviews for requirement validation across cross functional teams.
  • Familiarity with requirement configuration management and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively in a complex, multidisciplinary environment and influence people across multiple organizations including individuals located across the globe.  
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable with a dynamic work statement.
  • Fosters a healthy, creative and productive team environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Passion for educating and sharing disciplined Systems Engineering practices with others.
  • Proven experience applying Systems Engineering on commercial airplane programs.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle: requirements definition, analysis, integration, validation, and verification
  • Experience with analyzing the stakeholder needs and expectations to establish the requirements for a system or system element, product, or service.
  • Proficient in one or more Systems Engineering domains in addition to Requirements such as Operational, Functional, Logical, and Interface definition.
  • Familiarity with industry Systems Engineering processes and standards. (e.g. INCOSE SE Handbook, DO-178, ARP4754A)
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and practices. (e.g. SysML, Cameo)
  • Familiarity with Agile or modified agile working environment.
  • Self-starter, adept at managing, leading, and reporting out on technical projects to various audiences including leadership

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range (Level 3): $114,750 - $155,250

Summary Pay Range (Level 4): $138,550 - $187,450

Summary Pay Range (Level 5): $165,750 - $224,250
