Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Production Engineering Senior Managers to lead integrated groups of front-line leaders, engineers and technical staff. This requisition offers multiple positions, which could include any assignment, supporting any program in airplane product development, factory support, field operations or Core Engineering functional areas.

Successful candidates will have prior experience leading teams comprised of one or more Production Engineering skills (Manufacturing Engineering, Equipment & Tool Engineering, or Liaison Engineering), and/or Industrial Engineering skills. They will also have prior experience working in high-paced critical-flow production environments and a proven track-record of being adaptable to changing demands.

The positions are expected to require on-site presence at one of the listed location options and may allow for incidental telecommuting based on Statement of Work. Temporary travel to locations other than those listed may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead teams starting with engineering excellence and a commitment to safety, quality and integrity.
  • Lead teams to meet commitments to key program stakeholders, and stabilize & standardize the production system.
  • Develop teams that can support multiple shifts and overtime to ensure continuous production support to fabrication operations.
  • Use systematic problem-solving to enable building quality products in a safe and burden-free work environment, rate capable and FOD free.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures.
  • Provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Manage budgets and acquire resources for organizational activities.
  • Evaluate new work statement for capability and capacity to support deliverables.
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and front line leaders.
  • Actively engage with Production Engineering Skill teams to support cross-team staffing exercises and develop existing and future front-line leaders.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3 + years of experience in a management position with direct reports
  • 3 + years of experience with production systems design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 + years of experience driving and implementing continuous improvement in a production facing role.
  • 3 + years of experience building a safety and quality culture.
  • 3 + years of experience leading engineering teams in support of production operations.
  • Experience with production build plan ownership, including parts/plans/people and asset management (e.g. tooling and equipment).
  • Experience with OneBPS (Boeing Production System) principles and system health measures.
  • Experience with building an organizational talent pipeline.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $166,600 – $225,400
