Boeing Technology Innovation is currently seeking a Propulsion Aerodynamics Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our Energy & Propulsion team based in Everett, WA.

As a Propulsion Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing the overall aerodynamic design of different propulsion systems, including inlet and exhaust design and verification. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proficiency in aerodynamics, coupled with a creative and inquisitive mindset that drives innovative solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in advancing our propulsion systems and ensuring optimal performance in a variety of flight conditions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex, multi-phase, multi-species propulsion systems using OVERFLOW, CFD++, FLOEFD, and other codes.  

  • Verify and Validate new CFD codes or new usage of existing codes for propulsion systems such as inlet crosswind and performance analysis.  

  • Execute project and program specific statement of work associated with modeling propulsion systems such as inlet and nozzle performance analysis.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.

  • Experience in propulsion and/or aerodynamics engineering or a related field

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Mechanical engineering

  • Experience with advanced aerodynamic modeling techniques and tools.

  • Familiarity with industry standards related to aerodynamic design and analysis of propulsion systems.

  • Experience with software tools for data analysis and visualization (e.g., MATLAB, Python).

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in propulsion and aerodynamics.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for associate (level 2): $81,600 - $110,400

Summary pay range for mid-level (level 3): $100,300 - $135,700
