The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Configuration Management Specialist to join the team in Everett, WA; Seattle, WA; San Antonio, TX; Dallas, TX; Plano, TX; Arlington, VA; Huntsville, AL; Long Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Miami, FL; Mesa, AZ; Berkeley, MO; Ridley Park, PA; North Charleston, SC; or Tukwila, WA.

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is modernizing its foundational product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing operations management (MOM), and enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems; enhancing its data strategies; and improving alignment of its execution processes via a program called Sapphire that is a joint effort between BDS and Boeing Information Digital Technology and Security (IDT&S).

In joining the team, you will have a specific focus on software products and be responsible for creating, revising, and assisting with the implementation of configuration management plans, processes, and procedures tailored to software development. This role requires ensuring the integrity of highly complex software projects and leading the development of product structure definitions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create, revise, and assist in the implementation of configuration management plans, processes, and procedures specifically for software products

  • Ensure the integrity of highly complex software projects' block point releases, considering alternatives and acting on authority to implement necessary changes

  • Lead the development of product structure definitions for software to establish and maintain a baseline for product requirements and identification

  • Oversee the development of change proposals and Configuration Control Board/review packages related to software configurations

  • Present recommendations to resolve complex process-related issues in software development

  • Oversee activities to capture, record, and maintain software product configuration information and reports

  • Lead and conduct configuration verification and issue resolution activities for software products

  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems in software that require ingenuity and creativity, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives

  • Guide the successful completion of software programs and projects, functioning in a project leadership role as necessary

  • Interact frequently with inter-organizational personnel and external customers, providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with software projects

  • Initiate assignments and determine technical objectives to achieve desired results in software development, focusing on long-term effectiveness and organizational goals

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience on a configuration management (CM) team and/or working closely with a configuration management (CM) team

  • 5+ years of experience following the Product Data Management (PDM) systems Configuration Management Process

  • Experience with Software Engineering principles including, but not limited to, Software Configuration Management, Software Architecture and Design, and Software Life Cycle Management

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools and processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience leading and working collaboratively in a team environment

  • Experience in problem-solving

  • Experience applying verbal and written communication

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $112,200 – $162,150
