The Estimating & Pricing organization is looking for a Senior Estimating and Pricing Manager located in Everett, WA to lead the Enterprise Cost Recovery and Supply Chain Strategy Estimating Team. 


The Enterprise Estimating & Pricing Team is seeking a results-oriented, customer-focused Senior Manager to lead the Estimating Organization responsible for Commercial Supply Chain Strategy Decision Support and Enterprise-wide Cost Recovery.  This M-Level Senior Manager will lead a geographically diverse team of estimating professionals that are responsible for supporting two distinct deliverables for our Supply Chain business partners:

  • Strategy and Decision Analysis (i.e. Estimates & Business Cases oriented in facilitating strategic supply-chain decisions)

  • Cost Recovery Claim Development: Quantifying the impact of supplier-caused disruption and preparing fully substantiated claims to recover damages

This fast-paced and high-visibility leadership position supports business partners across commercial and defense product-lines and leads a truly global organization with teammates operating at all major commercial production sites in addition to Mesa and India.  This role requires close collaboration with leaders across multiple functions including Finance, Procurement, Legal, Business Operations, Quality, Engineering and Production in support of all major Commercial and Defense Airplane Programs.  Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with this cross-functional group of stakeholders and programs is critical to enabling timely and comprehensive value capture, in addition to well-informed business decisions that leverage facts, data, and objectivity. 

The successful manager must adapt well to emerging business requirements in a fast-paced business environment and interface effectively with individual contributors, direct-report managers, and executives across the business on a daily basis to drive results for the organizations we support.

  • Providing strategic direction and overseeing the daily execution of the organization in partnership with management direct-reports

  • Timely delivery of defensible, fully-substantiated claims that recover appropriate costs associated with major supplier-caused disruptions

  • Comprehensive and data-driven estimates and business cases that facilitate effective decisions

  • High-performing, well-developed team that partners effectively with cross-functional stakeholders across the business

  • Standardized, scalable estimating approaches for complex disruptions that reduce cycle time and improve claim quality

  • Establishing and maintaining real-time visibility and reliable reporting that clearly articulates the status and results of cost recovery to senior leadership

  • Maintaining & continuously improving the methods, tools, and resulting analyses the team is responsible for to optimize efficiency and value capture

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of analysts / estimators to deliver timely, high-quality estimates, strategic analysis, and claims for supplier-caused disruption

  • Integrate with cross-functional organizations to capture all applicable direct and indirect costs associated with supplier-caused disruption

  • Guide complex strategic decisions with objective, comprehensive, and data-driven estimates and business case analysis

  • Facilitate alignment with cross-functional partners and ensure consistent support and visibility to program and supply chain leaders

  • Enable consistent development, assembly, and presentation of fully substantiated recovery claims from the triggering event all the way through negotiation & settlement with suppliers

  • Provide routine visibility and performance reporting for all cost recoveries throughout the lifecycle of the claim

  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools and standards to enable comprehensive and high-quality analysis and recommendations

  • Adapt to evolving business priorities and emerging requirements effectively; set the strategic direction for the organization

  • Manage workforce planning, performance management, hiring, and day-to-day people leadership responsibilities for the team

  • Remove roadblocks for the team and ensure they have the tools required to effectively and efficiently execute the deliverables of the organization

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • 5+ years of collective experience in relevant functional areas (examples: Estimating, Finance, Procurement Financial Analysis, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, Industrial Engineering)

  • 3+ years of people leadership and/or formal management experience

  • 3+ years of experience interacting with cross-functional stakeholders (examples: Program, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Legal)

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners and senior leaders

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with experience presenting to and driving accountability in senior leadership forums

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of relevant experience / 5+ years’ experience in formal people leadership or management roles

  • Prior experience developing complex cost estimates and business case analysis

  • Familiarity with Boeing Supply Chain processes and program operations at major final assembly sites

  • Experience in Business Intelligence or data analytics tools (examples: SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and strong data interpretation skills

  • Demonstrated capacity to rapidly synthesize technical and business data to ensure quality and comprehensiveness during management reviews

  • Experience with cross-functional negotiation support and familiarity working with Contracts and Legal teams

  • Experience working in a geographically distributed / virtual team environment and growing team capability

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $183,500 - $250,700
