Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Senior Mechanical-Hydraulics Equipment Engineer to join our team in Everett, Washington.

Position Overview:

The selected individuals will work within airplane development engineering teams and interface with suppliers or internal Boeing organizations to oversee development of mechanical-hydraulic systems and associated components for commercial aircraft systems design. Airplane Development work spans the full range of the aircraft lifecycle: initial concept studies, development, and certification, continuous improvement in production, and on-going support for the duration of their service life. Positions include fluid power systems, fluid power components, and fluid power controls.  This position will be supporting development of the 777X family of airplanes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Gathers, defines and documents system level requirements and investigates actions necessary for requirements definition and flow-down improvement.

  • Performs and documents design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems and guides experienced engineers in performance of the designs.

  • Develops GNC and mathematical tools and techniques and aids in developing Technology roadmaps.

  • Performs or directs test data analysis and documentation.

  • Presents findings of compliance to regulatory agencies, negotiates certification basis in alignment project goals, simulation and design review per FAA, MIL-SPEC and NASA guidance.

  • Trains and coaches others.

  • Works under minimal direction.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Everett, WA).


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 15+ years of experience using IVT (Integration Visualization Tool)

  • 15+ years of experience using DOORS for requirements management

  • 15+ years of experience with data management tools such as Customer and Supplier Data Transmittal (CSDT)

  • 15+ years of experience using Boeing-specific engineering tools and processes across multiple commercial programs

  • 15+ years of experience working with the REDARS system

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) - at least one of the following:

  • Hydraulic power control systems and software architecture development

  • Airplane hydraulic system design and analysis

  • Aircraft Landing gear design experience

  • Experience developing hydraulic mechanical components with suppliers

Pay and Benefits:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range:

  • Senior (Level 4): $124,100 - $169,900
