We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Asset Management Team Lead to oversee our asset management operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring effective communication and collaboration with key suppliers and customers. The ideal candidate will provide strategic guidance to the asset management team, driving performance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Mentorship and Development: Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to team members, identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement. Facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and provide constructive feedback to ensure team members are meeting their goals and contributing to the overall success of the asset management function.
  • Resource Allocation: Assess team workload and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal performance and timely completion of projects.

Supplier and Customer Engagement:

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and customers, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for all asset management-related inquiries.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct regular meetings with suppliers and customers to understand their needs, expectations, and challenges. Use this information to inform asset management strategies and solutions.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address any issues or conflicts that arise with suppliers or customers promptly and effectively, ensuring a positive outcome for all parties involved.

Strategic Guidance:

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop a comprehensive asset management strategy that aligns with the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Research and implement industry best practices in asset management, ensuring the team is equipped with the latest tools and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring that the asset management team adheres to all compliance requirements.

Performance Monitoring:

  • KPI Development: Define and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of asset management initiatives, focusing on metrics such as asset utilization, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.
  • Data Analysis: Regularly analyse performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization. Use insights to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on asset management performance for senior management, highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for future actions.

Risk Management:

  • Risk Identification: Proactively identify potential risks associated with asset management activities, including financial, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of identified risks on the organization’s asset management operations.
  • Crisis Management: Establish protocols for crisis management related to asset management, ensuring the team is prepared to respond effectively to unexpected challenges.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Performance Reporting: Create and present detailed reports on asset management performance, including insights on asset lifecycle, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics tools to support decision-making processes, ensuring that asset management strategies are informed by accurate and relevant data.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Innovation Promotion: Encourage team members to propose innovative ideas and solutions for improving asset management processes and practices.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Establish feedback mechanisms to gather input from team members, suppliers, and customers on areas for improvement and potential enhancements.
  • Industry Trends Monitoring: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in asset management, integrating relevant insights into the team’s operations.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management or a related field
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and driving performance improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in asset management software and tools.

Important information regarding this role: This role is for a locally hired position in the UK and candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the UK.
