The Boeing Company – Government Estimating is currently looking for a Senior Estimating and Pricing Analyst (Level 4) or an Estimating and Pricing Analyst – Subject Matter Expert (Level 5) to join the Independent Cost Estimate (ICE) team in one of the following locations:

  • Berkeley or Hazelwood, Missouri

  • Arlington, Virginia

  • El Segundo or Seal Beach, California

  • Dallas, Houston, Plano or San Antonio, Texas

  • Huntsville, Alabama

  • Mesa, Arizona

  • North Charleston, South Carolina

  • Ridley Park, Pennsylvania

  • Everett or Tukwila, Washington

The Independent Cost Estimate (ICE) team is responsible for providing independent estimating support to the Finance Shared Services organization within Boeing. Principally, ICE estimators furnish estimates for proposals, estimate at completions (EACs) and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) projects to inform leadership decision-making on critical, strategic efforts. Within this position, the ICE estimator will build and maintain positive relationships with multiple organizations, both within and outside of estimating, to achieve the following:

  • Best-in-class independent cost estimates

  • Development and implementation of estimating tools and services within Functional Excellence

  • Effective collaboration with the Data/Tools Estimating and Financial Systems & Analytics to create and maintain an estimating data ecosystem to drive data-driven, historically-based estimating

  • Trade studies capabilities within Estimating (design-to-cost, Request for Information (RFI) support, Test of Reasonableness)

  • Functional support to the Vice President of Estimating in proposal, estimating methodology, tools, and other reviews

  • Surge support (strategic proposals, estimating infrastructure, data calls, leadership do-outs, etc.)

The ICE Estimator must understand statistical analysis (Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), distributions) and possess an ability to leverage this knowledge to deliver solutions to complex estimating challenges. ICE Estimators must be able to deliver these solutions while working from a data-limited environment within an Aerospace & Defense (A&D) organization.

It is critical in this role to build and maintain collaborative relationships with the Boeing proposal teams, Business Development & Strategy organizations, Engineering/Operations, and others to gain maximum situational awareness of Boeing’s Estimating risk and opportunity matrix. Members of the ICE team will need to be self-starting, versatile contributors who can work independently with an “outcomes” focused view.

Advanced user capabilities with all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.

Familiarity with the following tools and applications are a plus.

  • Statistical analysis tools (SAS, R, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)

  • COTS Parametric tools (PRICE, SEER, etc.)

  • Business data applications (VBA, Tableau, PowerBI, @Risk, Crystal Ball) 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent analysis for cost proposals, EACs, and other activities for Boeing Defense, Space, & Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services – Government (BGS-G) to support strategic decision making

  • Brief Estimating Center of Expertise (ECOE) leadership and other stakeholders on conclusions and recommendations predicated on logical assessment and data-driven methodology

  • Work across functional areas within the Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization and outside of FSS to gather data and subject matter expertise to inform independent assessments

  • Deliver solutions in a data limited environment through the use of creative problem solving and personal initiative

  • Provide surge support to competitive and major focus campaigns to support baseline program estimates and business strategy

  • Support major business projects and pursuits, as necessary

  • Build and maintain relationships with other core functions within the ECOE

  • Leverage statistical software and Boeing data systems to support the Data Analytics team, as needed

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher

  • 5 + years of experience working with statistical methods (i.e., segmentation models, regression analysis, trend analysis, etc.)

  • 5+ years of experience in the aerospace and defense industry

  • 5+ year of experience in performing cost estimating/pricing function

  • 5+ years of experience in MS Excel and manipulating data tables and formulas

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience with parametric estimating, regression analysis, and statistical validation

  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Level 4: $99,450 - $143,750

Summary pay range  for Level 5: $119,000 - $172,500
