The Boeing Company is seeking an Estimating Manager to join our organization supporting the Air Dominance Government Estimating and Pricing team in Hazelwood, MO.    

We are looking for a dynamic leader to manage Government Estimating Proposal Development within the Air Dominance organization supporting the F/A-18 and DLA team. This leader will help drive functional excellence and create culture that will cultivate change agents. As an Estimating and Pricing Manager, you will lead a team of estimators responsible for a range of estimating activities, including proposal development for future contracts, updates to government contracts, ongoing cost analysis and negotiations. You will direct the team in supporting government audits and negotiations while overseeing labor and material estimating, cost proposals, and financial analyses. This position focuses on providing guidance and support to ensure the effectiveness and success of the team.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage government estimating employees performing estimates, cost or price proposals, business case development and risk, financial and competitive analysis

  • Engage with program, site, and business unit customers, including Defense Contract Audit Agency/Defense Contract Management (DCAA/DCMA) on topics related to estimates, proposals, and estimating system

  • Develop process improvements with the goal of improving efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction

  • Identify, collect, monitor and respond to appropriate metrics to ensure performance

  • Create development plans for team members including coaching, mentoring, knowledge transfer and developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities

  • Establish partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, data driven strategies, products, and processes

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Provide on-going developmental feedback

  • Champion employee recognition by acknowledging contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in performing cost estimating/pricing function

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team or project either formally or informally

  • 5+ years of experience in a finance related position such as Financial Operations, Material Cost Management, Accounting, Estimating, Financial Planning, or Procurement Financial Analysis (PFA)

  • Experience streamlining processes/tools and developing talent

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Experience with government acquisition process

  • Experience working with large cross-functional teams and interfacing and presenting to senior management

  • Previous experience in a formal lead role

  • 5+ years of experience in performing cost estimating/pricing function

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: $124,950 - $169,050
