The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Mid-Level Packaging Engineering Specialist (Level 3) to join our dynamic team in Hazelwood, MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and practice all facets of Packaging, earning invaluable skills and industry knowledge
  • Under supervision, determines efficiencies and prepares improvements for implementation as part of cost effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications
  • Identifies project requirements by considering packing and handling improvement
  • Assist in providing logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international laws
  • Applies standards to protect parts during shipment and works with shop personnel to provide prioritization and packaging instructions
  • Under supervision, maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials (dangerous goods) general familiarization, function specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulations
  • Evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials
  • Plans the markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulations.
  • May occasionally interact and present to high level organizational leadership

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience reading & interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • 3+ years of experience using professional written and verbal communication skills to achieve deliverables
  • 3+ years of experience working with CAD system (SolidWorks, NX Unigraphics or Catia)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related technical discipline) or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in dangerous goods, regulations and assessments
  • 3+ years of experience with packaging engineering preferably Military packaging.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working independently
  • 3+ years of experience Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Active US Security Clearance

Conflict of Interest:

Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required and Special Program Access is required.

Shift:

This position is assigned to 1st shift

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: $90,950 - $112,350 USD
