Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an energetic, talented, and forward-thinking Engineering Multi-Skill Manager to join our USN Engineering Product Support team in St. Louis, MO.  This role would be the BGS MQ-25 Sustainment Chief Program Engineer (CPE) in addition to leading a team of systems engineers and product integrator direct reports involved in working on sustaining activities for MQ-25 support after delivery.  The CPE has responsibility for overall safety, technical integrity, and engineering execution excellence for the MQ-25 Sustainment activities and supporting systems.  The CPE is a key member of the MQ-25 BGS Program Leadership Team and is accountable to the BGS MQ-25 Program Director. This position is the BGS senior engineering leader for the program and the senior technical interface to customers, teammates and suppliers. This individual is also responsible for program technical integration across Boeing business units.  This position will operate per PRO-6924, which outlines the Chief Program Engineer role.

The MQ-25 Stingray is a new autonomous, unmanned carrier based refueling air vehicle. The MQ-25 program is currently working the Engineering and Manufacturing Development of 7 flight vehicles and two full-scale test articles for the Navy.  In 2021, the MQ-25 test airplane was the first autonomous flying vehicle to refuel a manned aircraft in flight. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team with diverse mix of logistics and engineering supporting Boeing Global Service (BGS) MQ-25 statement of work.
  • Ensure safety and product integrity for the sustainment & support of MQ-25
  • Leading engineering and product support integration execution across several different MQ-25 contracts . 
  • Partner with MQ-25 Program Manager to establish and uphold program battle rhythm and ensure that both Engineering and Program Management teams are utilizing and implementing Program Management Best Practices (PMBPs) and Systems Engineering Best Practices (SEBPs) on all MQ-25 projects.
  • Chair the Engineering Review Board (ERB), independent reviews, technical risk and opportunity management reviews, program technical reviews, proposal engineering commitment reviews, and Mission Assurance Reviews
  • Manage program technical baseline to include specifications, configuration, design and certification/verification (including all changes)
  • Partner with other functional managers across BGS and BDS in order to obtain the personnel and resource commitments necessary to successfully accomplish program objectives within budget and schedule. 
  • Perform all staffing, hiring, and human resource-related management functions
  • Ensure customer commitments are understood, documented, communicated, and delivered on-time with first-time quality
  • Establish, review and approve technology investment plans and roadmaps to drive business Growth
  • Advocate for technical independent or non-advocate reviews as needed
  • Ensure understanding and alignment to Boeing’s strategic imperatives & engineering initiatives
  • Work with employees to help them develop and achieve development milestones consistent with their career goals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering and Boeing Company processes
  • Drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives to increase efficiency and competitiveness
  • Lead and manage technical projects, including proposal estimates, in support of aircraft customers
  • Summarize actions and status via metrics and reporting tools for presentation to senior and executive leadership
  • Lead and contribute to risk, issue, and opportunity management
  • Lead and contribute to platform safety review boards
  • Ensure the technical correctness of offered solutions
  • Timely root cause corrective action (RCCA) to strive for first-time quality

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering is required.
  • 5 years or greater in a managerial role

Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • 10 years or greater in a managerial role.
  • Experience with positive collaboration with aircraft end users such as the USAF or USN
  • Active Current U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience working with executive and non-executive teams in developing integrated strategies to achieve short-term and long-term strategies

Summary pay range: $170,000 – $230,000
