The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Phantom Works team is seeking an Experienced or Senior Composites Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer located in Hazelwood, MO.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.

  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

  • Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.

  • Leads and implements manufacturing plans.

  • Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

  • Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices.

  • Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.

  • Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

  • Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems.

  • Implements lean principles and technologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 

  • 5+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience with a Bachelors OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

  • Experience in composite aerospace manufacturing and associated tooling, inspection and testing methodologies with emphasis on large scale prototyping applications

  • Experience with Model Based Engineering tools

  • Experience with creation of manufacturing planning and authoring assembly work instructions

  • Experience with aerospace new product development and prototyping

  • Experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems for design interrogation, manufacturing planning development and tooling design review

  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system

  • Experience in planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA

  • Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment

  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor

  • Engineering design or manufacturing engineering experience

Summary pay range:

Level 3 (Experienced): $90,100 - $121,900

Level 4 (Senior): $109,650 - $148,350
